This past Friday, the No Hate High School Tour rolled in to celebrate our students' and faculty's commitment to inclusion and allyship—complete with an incredible BMX performance! 🚴💨

No surprise to those who know her, Dr. Anna Belue jumped right in to assist during the show—without flinching! 👏💪

🚨 Location Change: Tryouts will be held at Woodville Tompkins this year due to our gym renovations.

📅 Tryout Sessions:
🔹 Session 1: Former varsity players & rising 11th & 12th graders – 3:30-5:00 PM
🔹 Session 2: Rising 9th & 10th graders

✅ Requirements to Try Out:

A CURRENT physical must be on file with Healthy Roster.

Congratulations to the Lady Panther Track Team for bringing home the first-place trophy from the Helen Willis Fulker Invitational in Jesup, Georgia last night!

Leah Nyce, Morgan Irvine, Ava Treece, and Francie Tedder led the way by winning the first race of the night, the 4x800 relay.

The boys’ team also kicked things off with a victory, as Nico Klaras, Michael Negron, Francis Drey, and Fitz Diass won the 4x800 relay. Great job, Panthers! 🐾

📢 Student Art Showcase Inspired by Panhandle Slim! 🎨✨

Artist Panhandle Slim recently visited Mrs. P's classroom and inspired our students! Students selected someone who has influenced their life, chose a quote, and brought their vision to life on after finding a surface to paint on.

Now, their incredible work—alongside pieces by Panhandle Slim—will be on display at Savannah Arts Academy (500 Washington Ave) on Thursday, February 27th, from 6-7 PM. Join us for this special showcase of creativity and inspiration! 🌟

🔹 Security, clear bag policy, & metal detectors will be in place.

🎨✨ Visual Art Students' Disney Adventure Recap! ✨🎢

This past weekend, 41 Visual Art students across all grade levels had an unforgettable educational trip! With chaperones Belue, Taylor, Dodson, and Peigelbeck guiding them, they explored the magic of Disney parks and took on an exciting challenge with Disney Imagineers.

📍 Friday: Epcot – exploring and enjoying the rides
📍 Saturday: Magic Kingdom – educational program with Disney Imagineers, park tour, and rides
📍 Sunday: Hollywood Studios – more exploration and fun

💡 Saturday's Highlight:
At Magic Kingdom, students divided into nine small groups, each assigned to a chaperone (except Belue). Guided by Disney Imagineers, they explored Walt Disney’s vision for theme park design. Their mission: create their own theme park!

Each chaperone’s groups collaborated to combine ideas into one cohesive theme park concept. To top it off, the final designs were presented to a panel of "investors" for feedback.

A weekend filled with creativity, teamwork, and of course, magic! ✨

ThesCon News from this Past Weekend:

In addition to Kaiya opening and closing the show, we want to give a big congratulations to Colin Hilleary and Cat Evans for qualifying for in-person performance in Duet Acting after earning three superior ratings on their digital audition!

Also, a huge shoutout to Jada Banks, who qualified for in-person performance in Solo Acting with three superior ratings!

Both performances are eligible to compete at the International Thespian Festival if they choose to attend. 🎉

SAA celebrated Mr. Wilkerson Day! In honor of his 25-year commitment to SAA, and upcoming retirement, the National Art Honor Society (NAHS) designed a special t-shirt. Students and staff surprised and honored him by wearing it this past Tuesday.

Mr. Wilkerson began his teaching career at Hodge Elementary before joining the SAA faculty in 1999. He has positively impacted countless lives, and everyone who knows him is better for it. While we will miss him next year, we are grateful to have been part of his journey. Thank you for everything, Mr. Wilkerson!
