Did you know that the Anne, a 200-ton merchant frigate, carried the very first colonists to Georgia in 1732? This 87-foot-long ship transported 114 settlers on a two-month journey, landing in Charleston before continuing to Beaufort. From there, the colonists traveled by small boats to the future site of Savannah, arriving on February 12, 1733, and marking the founding of the city.

Even more exciting—at the Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum , you can see an intricate model of the Anne on display, bringing this historic voyage to life!
