Today starts the first day of winter. Which also means it is the winter solstice. This is a special day in Scottsdale as the most expensive piece of art is the Soleri Bridge and Plaza. However, this bridge is not ordinary as it has two 64-foot beams with a 6-inch gap in between and a red line running down the entire bridge. These beams, gaps, and the red line actually function as a sundial. Today at solar noon which will be 12:25 PM Arizona time, you will be able to see the sun's shadow cast through the two beams and all the way down to the end of the red line.
