Buddy and I had a fantastic start to our trip at the beautiful Sofitel Moorea where he took some paddleboard lessons from Debora Roberts. After spotting an Eagle Ray, he escaped to the closest thing he could find- my hair. After some beach time, we toured the gorgeous property, met up for some champagne and had an incredible dinner! Then, it was off to sleep to be ready for an incredible tour of Moorea the next morning. 🥰🥰

“Yes, I have a pen and paper”.... start a new note...then can’t find anything later because there’s no context. As travel advisors, my mom and I get little details throughout the day that we need later....then our bi-monthly note clean outs reveal our chaotic, ADHD at work, overly entertain us and trigger Susan’s asthma. I have a bit of a controversial take on luxury travel.

I’m a pretty big believer that luxury travel isn’t always 5-star resorts and first-class tickets (although both of those are nice!).

Luxury can be as simple as having someone else plan and book all the details for your trip so there’s no stress on your shoulders.

Luxury can be an itinerary tailored perfectly to you, without you having to lift one finger.

Luxury can be as simple as seamless logistics, where all the details are planned and organized for you without any stress or wasted time.

Just know that whether your idea of luxury is the 5-star resorts or it’s all of the things I listed above, I’m a DM or email away and ready to assist!

As I’m planning trips, there’s a running roll of thoughts that go through my head 👇

👉 Did I check for the best possible routes and airlines my clients are loyalty members of? (Gotta build those points where possible!)

👉 Is the hotel or resort in a location that makes sense for the type of trip?

👉 Are there special dietary needs to consider?

👉 Is the itinerary designed to hit the things that are most important?

👉 Are tours and experiences booked?

👉 Is there transportation to and from the airport and all of the places in between?

Y’all, it’s a whole lot to juggle.

It’s my job. It’s what I’m good at. And nothing makes me happier than taking these questions and worries off my clients’ plates so they aren’t stressing before or during their family getaways/couples trips/relaxation trips.

This is what travel nightmares are made of 😬

You or your partner forgot to confirm the rental car.

The hotel is overbooked, and you get bumped.

Your resort room is up to par.

If you’re in the middle of a hot mess on your summer travels right now, know that I get it.

You don’t go [insert the number of years] traveling the world and working in the travel industry without seeing a thing or two.

Take a deep breath. This too shall pass.

Nothing makes me think YIKES more than seeing online forums and messages of people whose vacations were ruined because they got to their resort or hotel, and it was not as expected.

Now, some of you may not necessarily care too much about where you lay your head at night, you’re there to explore and enjoy the destination.

But for some of you, the resort or hotel experience can absolutely make or break your whole trip.

👉 My advice?

Don’t go off of the photos online, and outdated reviews you’re hoping still reflect the current situation.

I love that I can give my clients dynamic knowledge of resorts and hotels, either by visiting myself or by tapping into my network of trusted people on the ground.

They get the scoop so they don’t end up at a place with shabby rooms, stiff mattresses, and a pool that’s closed for maintenance.
