Loggerhead turtles (Caretta caretta) are named for their large heads that support powerful jaw muscles, allowing them to crush hard-shelled prey such as clams and sea urchins. Accidentally capturing marine animals in fishing nets is a severe problem for loggerhead turtles because they often fall into nets.
Loggerheads are most common in the Mediterranean, nesting on beaches from Greece and Turkey to Israel and Libya. Many of its nesting beaches are threatened by tourism development. Sea turtles are the living representatives of a group of reptiles that have existed on Earth and have traveled our seas for the last 100 million years. They are a critical link in marine ecosystems and help maintain the health of coral reefs and seagrass beds.
This turtle was being released after the placement of the satellite positioning tag to track its movements by @maralliance

La Jolla Cove is a small cove with a beach that is surrounded by cliffs in La Jolla, San Diego, California. Point La Jolla forms the south side of the cove. The area is protected as part of a marine reserve and is popular with snorkelers, swimmers, and scuba divers.
The swells that often roll in from the open ocean can be large and strong. The water temperature is often a little colder than the average San Diego beach. While the beach has a small dry sand area at high tide, during very low tides, tide pools are revealed at the cove.
California sea lions can be found in the waters of the Cove and hauling out, temporarily leaving the water to rest on its beaches, cliffs, and bluffs. Similar to the events of the Pacific harbor seals at Children's Pool Beach, there is controversy concerning the interactions of people with the sea lions.

My friend @cmarr18 and I did one of the most challenging hikes in Arizona Sunday. It was truly beautiful the desert was in full bloom. Chris made it to the very top. 👍🏼🙀 on a difficulty scale of 1 to 5, I would rate this a 4 😎. Be prepared for a lot of climbing over large boulders.

The Siphon Draw Trail to Flatiron near Phoenix, Arizona is known as one of the state’s top ten hikes to experience. This route is an unbelievable 6.05 mile round trip adventure that places hikers directly on top of the powerful and towering cliffs in the Superstition Mountains.
This trail is located in the Lost Dutchman’s State Park. The first section of this trail is actually named Siphon Draw Trail and the final one mile section, which takes you up to the very top is known as Flatiron Trail, named for the cliff’s unique curvature.
The trail begins on the base of the mountain and gradually takes you up in elevation. You are walking amongst the stillness of the desert, surrounded by the cactuses and soft green colors of the low dwelling plant life — and if you’re lucky enough to be hiking here in the springtime, you might also catch yourself a colorful desert wildflower bloom, too.
You will see Flatiron high above in the far distance and you will continue to see it throughout the entirety of this hike. For now, this dirt path at the base of the mountain is wide and clear, making it easy to follow along and keep track of as you climb up some well-constructed stone stairs.

Just like most babies, Daisy and Modjadji simply adore their milk! They are both just over 3 months old and fed every 2-3 hours throughout the day and night. Daisy drinks just under 1L at every feed! Whilst Daisy is the louder drinker, Modjadji is more delicate and a lot quieter!
