We call it the off-season soundtrack - an eerie mix of swaying street signs, relentless wind, and the overall absence of life that plays along to an old saying here in town. "When the blinkers are on, the people are gone."
(Alright, we made that up in like 2016, but it rings true for the most part)
Plunge weekend is always different. E-A-G-L-E-S chants will drown out the moans of swaying street signs, jitneys will barrel through the relentless wind, and the blinkers? They'll be back to their regular schedules of green, yellow, and red.
The Plunge itself may be no more, but like last year, we're not ready to let the entire tradition fade away. We'll be open Thurs-Mon and will also have a weekend tent at @oarhousepubsic selling shirts to raise money for the @polarbearrunwalkforautism.
Thankfully the forecast for this weekend looks drastically different from the conditions above (almost 50 and sunny on Saturday!) and the water is a balmy 38.5°F. Now for the real question...are you jumping in?!
