There's too much you're not allowed to do in this world. So we say YES! Yes, you can feed the seals at the aquarium. Yes, you can eat ice cream before dinner. Yes, you can drop a crab pot off the bridge at 12th Avenue. Yes, you can rent a paddle boat shaped like a swan... it's Seaside!

Joyce Williams was the first woman mayor of Seaside, 1977-1990. She was very proud of leading the effort to place the Lewis and Clark statue at the Turnaround as well as many other projects during her time in Seaside. Some may remember her at the family restaurant, William's Cafe, opened in 1947. It was located where Dooger's is today and kids who grew up in the 60s would always want to trick or treat at her house on Edgewood Dr across from the golf course, as she would be dressed up as a witch and have a steaming caldron of candy to give out!
