I just love that they contacted me to share this. I had no idea they were up in a tree that high!

Astra's walk on Christmas Eve morning.

I think she smelled or heard a rodent of small size and trying to flush it out. I think it was probably a tiny shrew as she's flushed them out before.

The last two weekends we were able to go for a walk in the woods between the rain that is winter in the PNW.

The first walk, Astra almost did 2 miles! Tried to encourage breaks but she kept jumping down from her backpack via my shoulders to keep walking. So we let her walk. Bellatrix walked maybe 500 ft but she loves to ride on the top of the backpack or the shoulders of whose carrying her.

The second walk, Astra did a mile. She's such a trooper! Bellatrix chose a backpack ride over walking. I think it's the damp ground she hates and her sister isn't bothered by. Bellatrix doesn't have paw floof unlike her Astra.

It's been raining here for a few days. Last week, we had a short power outage (30hrs) and it was their first time without power here. The gals were confused when the camping lights and stove came out because that's usually cabin stuff. They stayed warm all night and even went outside for a walk in-between rain showers.

So, haven't been on adventures for a bit, time for pics from adventures past!

As beat up as this toy looks, never throwing it out if I can help it. It's what remains of Astra's first wand toy and she treats it like her blankie...if she were a wee human, that is. This gets carried downstairs when she does and back upstairs when she decides bedtime is. Her sister doesn't quite understand the appeal. That's ok, Astra doesn't understand Bellatrix's love of car rides. 🤣😂

Love how much they love each other. Our previous group of cats, 3 boys, were introduced to each other and got along for the most part but didn't do lovey cuddling with each other. In fact, when one wanted to cuddle and then it led to grooming, a 'cleaning fight ' would happen because the cat doing the grooming apparently didn't respect the other cat's limit. So yeah, this is nice.

They do have their tiffs though cause siblings. 😅

As I was bringing Astra inside yesterday, Bellatrix darted outside. Luck, we are in a fairly quiet condo complex with low traffic in the complex. Bellatrix also has a set path of where she likes to go so I wasn't that worried. Her favorite spot is by this retaining pond. When I was getting close to home, she realized she was going to go inside. She gave a small whine and then when that didn't work, she gave me a small growl to show her objection to it.
