Finally making my goodbye to 2024 post!
2024 was a lot! So many good things: traveled every month, reconnected with distant friends, made new friends, hiked most of the year & explored in my own state, opened my heart up again, learned more about myself, got my dream car, promotion at my airline job, more bookings than the previous year in my biz, being interviewed by a podcast & magazine, a lot more self care, and so much more.
It didn’t come with out some negatives too like heart break, a triggering comedy show, unhealed parts of myself that came out. But the positive outweighed the negative & showed me more self love & care & how to stop & slow down when I need to.

The staff was so sweet & tentative & didnt mind us wandering around & checking out the cool lounge & even came to turn the lights on for is to check out. They also have a huge group/party room. Great for any events you may have.

I had a similar story with a previous client exactly this. Most of the time, we as travel agents can save you money! We are not motivated by charging you a bunch of extra money to make a paycheck, we literally make commission from the companies we book through. Even if you use an online site that company or rep is making the commission. The only reason some of us travel agents even charge a booking fee is for our time. If we have been an agent for a while we know how precious our time is & people will take that for granted as for a detailed booking then cancel and now you make nothing & wasted precious time you could have been working on bookings for clients who actually want to book. 9/11 Gone but Never Forgetten 🇺🇸This day in grade school on the opposite side of the US, still is imprinted in my brain. The emotional shock wave that over came our entire country that day was felt at every inch. It was emotional visiting the memorial in Virginia and seeing how many lost there lives in just one of the crashes. Today let’s take a moment to remember and be grateful for the life we still have and get to live. Let’s have extra compassion today as you don’t know who was affected by this on a deeper level. Firstly I am not a tax expert so definitely reach out to a tax expert for questions. I have been working with the same tax advisor for years while growing my brand & business.I love to travel! Before I would travel to travel but now that I am building this brand and business, I can no integrate my love for travel into my business by reviewing accommodations, airlines, tours & activities, transportation, etc… and use that to 1. Find physical options the suit my clients & 2. To advertise my business on social media. This makes my trips business. Yes I have to be on my phone more & it takes some work to put together & post but now I can write off my business trip. Find a business you’re passionate about and stop leaving money on the table! If youre a gamer, stream & then you can write off your computer parts, games you buy, gaming chair, etc… as another example.Again not a tax expert but just a big perk to owning a business that is in an area I am passionate about. One thing that often people have reservations about when becoming a travel agent or starting any online business is that they have to have this social media presence to be successful and thats so not true.I was successful before I even started on Tik Tok. I started this page like a year and a half after I became an agent. My first 3 clients came from my hair dresser before I even promoted my new business. Then I made a few posts on my very private page which for security reasons refused to make public and I was bringing in a good monthly side income. Tik Tok has done wonders and brought me to all of you & has grown my business a lot. There is some amazing power in social media but if you are shy or cant post you can still be successful. Another example we have someone on the team who works in a certain field that doesnt allow her to post on social media & she is one of the most successful agents on the team. You can find clients by just talking to people about what you do, naturally people will think of you when they see someone asking for travel advice and will refer you. You can do pop up events, you can post advertisements or biz cards, there are so many ways.So please dont let this idea you have to be this glamorous, bubbly, content creator to be successful. Even lately I have not felt like doing my makeup, been a bit emotional but yall still find value in my posts.
