Here I go again...the motto of my agency..." we know because we go"... this time I am off to Amsterdam for an intensive Travel Industry River Cruise Expo. This will be my 2nd time attending the ASTA (American Society of Travel Advisors) EXPO. We have the opportunity to stay on one of 12 different ships as “hotels”. I will be staying on the luxury Tauck River Cruise line.

In between catching up with many friends from over the years, I will also eat and tour and be entertained on the ships of Viking River Cruises, AMA Waterways, Riviera River Cruises, Riverside Luxury Cruises, and of course Uniworld Boutique River Cruises. I sample them all so I can really know the differences and distinctions. I will have an immersive educational 2 weeks, and I have lots of excursions and touring planned in the Netherlands, and on the Rhine, and in Belgium. I will at the end finally get to tour the Keukenhof Gardens at the very beginning of Tulip season and next year plan a proper tulip time cruise. The British Airways Concorde Supersonic Jet seen yesterday casually floating up the east river under the Brooklyn Bridge. It was being moved from the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum to the Brooklyn Navy Yard to undergo some restoration and will be back on display next year!

Yesterday I stated my journey. I am off to the ASTA River Cruise Expo for the next few weeks. All the best river cruise companies are bringing their newest ships to Budapest where a select group of agencies will use them as hotels and for seminars, we will “jump” ships for lunches, dinners, parties, experience the different levels of service and amenities then sail on a couple of them. This will really up my knowledge of ALL the river cruise companies and create relationships with the suppliers all to be better at servicing my agents and my clients when it comes to sailing the rivers of the world! Not only Europe but the Nile, the Amazon, the Mekong, the Chobe in Africa and the rivera of Columbia!

This will be the first of 3 ships I will be staying onboard for the ASTA River Cruise EXPO next month!

Riverside Luxury Cruises will launch with three ships this year, and two more in 2024. Yesterday, we announced the acquisition of Crystal's full fleet of river ships, adding the newly renamed MS Bach, MS Ravel, MS Mahler, and MS Debussy to the upcoming offerings.

MS Mozart will sail the Danube, starting in April 2023, on three- to nine-night itineraries. MS Ravel and MS Debussy will make their inaugural voyages in May 2023; MS Ravel will cruise the Danube, Rhône, and Saône rivers, and MS Debussy will sail the Danube and Rhine rivers. Itineraries for the MS Bach and MS Mahler will be announced later this year, with departure commencing in 2024.

I am getting prepared to take off for Europe next month for an intensive hands-on training with the American Association or Travel Advisors at their 2nd River Cruise Expo! All of the top River Cruise Lines will be bringing their newest ships to Budapest prior to the River Cruise Season starting where we a group of River Cruise Specialists will gather to stay on the various ships as hotels, Jump ship to ship for lunches, dinners, lectures and entertainment as we sample all of the ships, culinary, service, and more.

Then we will all split up onto the various ships for sailings to try new ships we may not have traveled on all to be better educated to help YOU make the right decision for your next river cruise!
