Hey everyone, I'm Joshua and I'm in the CISB Spanish track. I spent a quarter in Leon, Spain studying Spanish, where I stayed with a host family (which I HIGHLY recommend) and got to go on epic weekend excursions which were literally some of the coolest places I've ever seen. The time spent in Leon was even more incredible, making friends in the university, going out to bars, studying at cafes and exploring the historic city sites. I made amazing lifelong relationships--one of my friends from Leon just came to the US for his first time to visit us! I learned how special it is to really live in a city, not just tour it. There's a different level of connectedness and appreciation that comes from living in a community. I will forever be grateful for this opportunity!

Minnie Thompson from the Japanese/Korean track went on a foster exchange program with Kobe University in Kobe, Japan!🇯🇵🏯🎌
She says the highlight of her trip was “taking the time I had off from class to tour all over the country and see some really amazing sights!”

Steps for Ice-Skating

Date: Sunday, February 27, 4-6 pm
Transportation: Light Rail to Northgate (~17 min) + Walk to Ice Rink (~5 min)
Total Cost: $20 (Includes skate rental)

IMPORTANT: Walk-Ins are not allowed at the ice rink. You must register and purchase tickets online! There is a limited amount of space so please register ASAP to ensure your spot.

3. Create a new account
1. Fill in the information
4. You will be redirected to your dashboard
5. On the left-hand sidebar menu, click “Drop-In Events”

3. Choose “Public Skate Sundays” from 4-6 pm
6. Click add to cart, click the cart in the upper right-hand corner
1. Make sure to click on the event one more time to select skate rental if needed

CISB 2021 Photo Dump!

2021 was yet again another unpredictable year with plenty of highs and lows. But through it all, CISB was able to get back on track. We had awesome experiences with keynote professionals like Sally Jewell, who had insights on sustainability in todays corporations. We had CISB alumni who gave us their experiences entering the work force. And countless other events within our CISB community. We couldn’t have done it without all of you and the faculty who made 2021 a year to remember!

We look forward to kicking off 2022 with our first meeting tonight online via zoom. See you there!

Welcome back Alumni!

Last week the Chinese track got the awesome opportunity to speak with some alumni CISB students about their careers after UW. It is always great to be able to get valuable insight from recent students and ask questions that many of us have, as we start to think about careers.

Luckily for all of you, we have our very own Alumni night tonight on zoom. So CISB students make sure to come with any of those lingering questions you might have and ask away.

Last CISB post of the year!!

As the last post for this school year, it would only make sense to highlight CISB students from the Spring Banquet! At the banquent students were highlighted on their achievements.

It has been an interesting year for students. Zoom classroom has presented some challenges. However, this year students were able to hear from some amazing speakers, especially those living out of the country.

To the CISB graduating class, best of luck! You will do amazing things.
