One of our new whale buddies in Baja gave us a mouthful.
We finally started to go thru all the photos from the last tour in Mongolia to see the Eagle Hunters and Camel Herders.
Looking forward to sharing this years images.
Here’s a short video from a morning photoshoot.

Have you ever thought of visiting Canada for your next Photography Vacation?
If you weren’t already considering Canada for your next vacation, you definitely should be now. Why? Lonely Planet named Canada as the Best Country to Travel to in 2017 and the New York Times raked Canada #1 in their 52 places in a year, meaning there’s no time like the present to join me in Canada — as they both put it, it’s a destination you cannot afford to miss.
I am sure you have your own reasons to venture up north, but here are a few more to give you a little push.
If you are a lover of wildlife, did you know we’re known for bears, whales, eagles, beavers and more? And if you play your cards right, pretty much any trip up north will have you viewing wildlife you can’t spot anywhere else.
Head to the east coast with me and spot over 22 species of whales or check out polar bears and belugas in the arctic.
Head up north with me and spot Canada’s apex preditors like Polar Bear, Canada Lynx and Wolves.
Head to the west coast with me and spot Bald Eagles, Grizzly Bear and Black Bear

For the landscape photographer Canada offers an array of opportunities. Below are just a few reasons why you should look at Canada.
Did you know we offer some of the best spots in the world to view and photograph the northern lights?
We have more water than anywhere else on the planet and this means a whole lots of coastline. Head out on the open ocean in New Brunswick to spot whales putting on a show or get to know the West Coast by kayak or float plane. No matter which province or territory you visit, you’ll never be far from a pristine lake or ever-changing tide.
From the Rocky Mountains in the north, to the great lakes in Ontario, the shorelines of eastern Canada, and everywhere in between, a landscape photographer is never too far fr
Yukon, a place where you will close your eyes and breathe in crisp Yukon air. Smell spruce sap and the earthy scent of tundra, and listen for the excited howls of husky sled dogs. But the real magic happens when you open your eyes and drink in Yukon landscapes under the dancing aurora borealis.
I have now been travelling to the Yukon since 2013. I’ve lead trips to focus on the landscapes, we’ve tracked down the fall colors and winter landscapes, travelled to the arctic circle and my groups have photographed the wildlife when it presented itself. But never have I focused solely on the wildlife… until now.
In conjunction with the Yukon Wildlife Preserve I will be leading two photography workshops in January of 2018 to focus on the wildlife by day and the aurora by night…
The Yukon Wildlife Preserve (YWP) was created to promote knowledge and foster appreciation of arctic and boreal ecology through the creation of a center of northern education, conservation and research excellence.
The YWP is a unique wildlife viewing property featuring 13 species of northern Canadian mammals in their natural environment. Encompassing over 700 acres with various habitats, the Yukon Wildlife Preserve offers unparalleled wildlife viewing opportunities.
I partnered with YWP for two reasons:
(1) Because we have been given the opportunity to get behind the fence lines for access to these mammals that the average person is not offered. You will get so close to animals like the Canada Lynx, Arctic Fox and Caribou that you will be photographing them with lenses as wide as a 24-105mm. The last workshop there we were as close as 20’ from Canada Lynx, Arctic Fox, Caribou and Dall Sheep.
(2) The YWP staff not only guides us through the various animals in their natural habitat and keep us safe, the staff also educates the attendees on the various animals and their habitat. Not only will you take awesome images, you will walk away more informed on your subject matter.
But let
