Let the grape harvest begin! We’ll be making white wine vinegar and some trials with using table grapes for winemaking. A few more days of heat and they’ll all be ready. Our wine grapes still need another year , so it’s time to experiment. 💕 🍷🤞🏽

How the night ends chez nous. + a Royal (divine chocolate pastry) from the local patisserie If we could bottle the tranquility that lives here with the cooing doves and the occasional echoes of our neighbor’s soft evening conversations that would be magic. France is a special place we continuously return to for replenishment and restoration. For me, as a perfumer and creative, the smell alone is worth the thousands of miles of travel, the unpredictable snafus of being in a culture other than our own. Somehow we’ve settled back into a way of life that feels right for us. à tous ❤️🇫🇷

French beach clubs. We never understood the allure of them, but obviously we’ve been missing out. On our last trip three years ago we took the plunge and have never looked back since. You can rent a lounger (called a transat) for the day and recline by the sea in total comfort. A little flag signals the servers you’d like to order something from the restaurant or bar and that’s about all there is to it. Food is brought, wine is drunk, and except for an occasional salty plunge in the Med, that’s your relaxing day. ❤️🌊🇫🇷

We’ve just left Collioure with its Catalan heritage deeply in place. You still hear the musical sounds of the language spoken on the narrow streets and even though it’s become a tourist haven, the authenticity remains.

When I grow up I want to be an old person in France sur la plage. Day two of our long awaited return to France - three years have passed, yet so much remains the same. The wine is still 💯 the cheese - formidable, the people- wonderful. Once the jet lag abates I hope to post more of our adventures.
