Founded in 2017 by travel industry veterans Jake Haupert and Michael Bennett, Ed.D., Explorer X consciously-designs custom travel experiences and small group journeys that will take you to the most incredible destinations around the world and invite you to venture into its most unique cultures. Combining exciting outdoor activities, immersive cultural interactions, incredible local accommodations, and amazing culinary experiences with meaningful conversations and time for exploration and reflection, these journeys put you face-to-face with contemporary issues and ancient truths, allow you to see the world through new eyes, and focus as much on the inner journey of discovery as they do on the outer journey of exploration.

Explorer X was built for you, the seekers and explorers who want more out of your travels and more out of your life.
Why? Because we’ve been there. We felt lost and confused about who we were. We didn’t know what we wanted to be when we grow up. We wrestled with trying to create some sort of work-life balance. We dealt with relationship challenges. We struggled to find meaningful work. And we did the whole existential crisis / freakout / WTF-am-I-doing-with-my-life? thing. (Trust us, it wasn't pretty.)
So we set out on our own personal Hērō’s Journeys of exploration, discovery, and growth. We traveled the world looking for answers to many of life's most confusing yet critical questions. We engaged with new people and ideas and perspectives. We pushed our comfort zones, took risks, and challenged ourselves to move beyond our limiting beliefs to see what was really possible for us. We faced our fears with courage. We took time to do our own self-work. We laughed and we cried. We found out, ironically that the answers we sought “out there” were inside us the whole time. We found our passions and followed our bliss. We stepped into our power and took action to make our dreams a reality. And we came out the other side happy, fulfilled, and inspired.

We believe that travel, at its roots, is about exploration … That it’s as much about the Inner Journey of learning and growth as it is about the Outer Journey of exploration … It's about adventuring off into the unknown, disconnecting from the demands of work and technology and exploring the world and ourselves … It’s about the special moments, whether you are camping in the Australian outback, staying in a remote ecolodge in Greenland, or treating yourself to a boutique hotel in Patagonia … It’s about connecting with new people, places, and cultures, wrestling with new ideas, perspectives, and beliefs, and building awareness, understanding, empathy, and global citizenship … And it's about reconnecting with ourselves so that we can live with more meaning, purpose, and intention.
