The days are counting to be able to enjoy the epic Going-to-the-Sun Road in Glacier National Park before it opens to vehicle traffic!

Going-to-the-Sun Road is now open all the way over Logan Pass to hikers and bicyclists, when the road crew is not working!

When the road crew is working, the area between Bird Woman Falls Overlook and Lunch Creek may be closed. Any closures will be clearly marked and signed. The Road Crew Closure is typically in place Monday-Thursday until 4 pm.

Conditions can change quickly, and the road may close again (temporarily) to hikers and bikers for safety reasons. Follow all posted signage. Violators are putting their safety and the safety of our park rangers at risk and could face up to a $5,000 fine and up to 6 months in jail.

The alpine section of Going-to-the-Sun Road remains closed to vehicles.

ROAM beyond was the most magical place to stay! It takes glamping to a whole new meaning. The cabins themselves are SO cozy and cute. We stayed in September and I never felt cold. The outdoor showers were wonderful, but the indoor shower was luxury. I will recommend this to anyone heading to Glacier!!!!

You still have time to enjoy the Going-to-the-Sun Road in Glacier National Park this summer, just be sure to plan ahead and be prepared to secure your vehicle reservation at least 2 days in advance.

Going out to dinner on a Friday night? You might want to make a reservation.
Driving into Glacier in July? You might want to make a vehicle reservation.

24-hour advance reservations will become available at 8 am MDT on a rolling basis starting May 25.

May 26 through September 10: reservations are required for Going-to-the-Sun Road westside entrances and the North Fork from 6 am to 3 pm.

July 1 through September 10: reservations are required for east side entrances including Many Glacier, Two Medicine, and Going-to-the-Sun Road from Rising Sun from 6 am to 3 pm.

Vehicle reservations are required from 6 am to 3 pm daily. Those without a reservation may enter the park before 6 am or after 3 pm. The park is open 24/7.

Important information for those of you visiting ROAM Beyond’s Glacier National Park destination this summer.

Visiting Glacier National Park from May 26 - September 10, 2023 between 6 am and 3 pm? In addition to an entrance pass, visitors also need a separate vehicle reservation for each of the following areas of the park: the Going-to-the-Sun Road Corridor, the North Fork Area, the Two Medicine and the Many Glacier valleys.

There is a limited number of vehicle reservations available for each day and demand will exceed supply. The first block of advanced vehicle reservations will be released on Recreation.gov, beginning February 1, 2023 at 8 am Mountain Time.

It's peak season in Glacier National Park and for lots of visitors it's their first time exploring the Crown of the Continent. There's lots to know about getting into the park that may be new to you, like seasonal road closures on Going-to-the-Sun Road, or the vehicle reservation system required to enter the park.
