Last week we had the opportunity to attend the January Membership Dinner at the Fidalgo Yacht Club!

Our president, Bob Wise delivered a comprehensive presentation that was well received.

Our new Executive Director, Troy Olason , was in attendance as well and had several good conversations with FYC members.

It was a pleasure to meet everyone in attendance, thank you for the opportunity!

Did you notice that the Montlake Street Bridge across the Lake Washington Ship Canal remained closed from 1:30 - 5:00pm and 7:30 - 10:00pm yesterday? The Coast Guard approved a temporary deviation from normal operating hours allowing the Montlake Street Bridge to remain closed to accommodate for the heavy road traffic due to the University of Washington football game.

This change in operations will OCCUR AGAIN on November 15, 2024 from 3:30pm - 6:00pm and from 9:00pm - 11:30pm.

The Montlake Bridge in the closed-to-navigation position provides 30 feet of vertical clearance throughout the navigation channel and 46 feet of vertical clearance throughout the center 60 feet of the bridge. Vessels that do not require a bridge opening may continue to transit beneath the bridge.

The Coast Guard will publish any updates or changes to this schedule in future LNM publications as game times are announced.

Our Vice President, Andrea Pierantozzi, was invited to Hidden Harbor Yacht Club’s monthly membership meeting earlier this month to present the advocacy, awareness, and preservation & growth work RBAW has been doing for the 250,000+ boaters in Washington.

She told the story of Sucia Island and how that success has guided RBAW’s current project of redeveloping Lakebay Marina in the south Sound.

Thank you Hidden Harbor Yacht Club for the invite and active participation!
