Our rose for today is Apricot Nectar, a floribunda introduced by Boerner in 1965. Clear soft apricot-yellow flowers with a sweet scent come in great abundance on this excellent rose. It grows large and make an excellent shrub which is rather resistant to most disease.

Here is Madame De Sancy De Parabere, a Boursault Rambler introduced in 1874 by Bonnet. The Boursaults as a whole are small of flower, though floriferous; this is the exception. Mme. De Sancy's flowers are massive, with particularly large guard petals of soft clear pink, and a mass of smaller, pinker inner petals, producing a peony effect. Much more sprawling than other Boursaults.

Here is Golden Chersonese, a Species Hybrid introduced in 1967 by Allen. Those of you who are familiar with a native California shrub called Fremontodendron or flannel bush will easily picture the effect Golden Chersonese makes with its wide, golden-yellow, single blooms on very short stems adorning a forest of upright canes. This hybrid of Rosa ecae combines that effect with lacquered, red-brown stems, the flowers appearing to bloom on leafless canes. Fragrant.

This is Cathedral, a Floribunda introduced in 1975 by McGredy. A rose that is not everyone's favorite; very brilliantly colored with creamy gold petals heavily overlaid vermilion. This is one of the healthiest roses we have ever grown; makes a superb show of color most of the season. AARS winner 1976. Little fragrance.

Today's rose is Anna Scharsach, a Hybrid Perpetual introduced in 1890 by Geschwind. broadly cupper flowers of bright pearl pink shaded with peach at the petal bases are loosely full, revealing a heart of large golden stamens mixed with petals. The color begins with a very soft peach tone, quite an unusually warm tint for a Hybrid Perpetual. The flowers gradually tint deeper and cooler in tone, especially at the edges where touched by the sun. Fragrant.

Our rose for today is "La Nymphe" a found Noisette. Pretty cupped flowers come in shades of pink from blush to rose, deeper toned in cool seasons, with a sweet Damask perfume. The blooms can be 3 inches or so across and vary in the size of their clusters. This is one of the Bourbon-Noisettes which has a very expansive growth habit and makes a good small climber.

Today's rose is Fantastique, a Hybrid Tea introduced by Meilland in 1943. Extremely compact; to 2 feet. the flowers are a delightful pale yellow to corn yellow with cerise edges which appear to have been dusted on, as a sprinkling of cherry-pink feathers into the petals. Fragrant as well. Nice in a container.
