A lesson we learned from Tyler & Jenaye’s wedding:

You can pick and choose what you actually want for your wedding, instead of following a “traditional” wedding timeline.

A super fun and memorable wedding we hosted was for Tyler and Jenaye. They had a one of a kind request for their special day, a mariachi band for their tiny wedding! We loved that we were able to infuse Jenaye’s Mexican culture into their special day! We found an amazing mariachi band and it turned out to be a completely unique wedding. Plus we made taco carts super luxe. We believe each couple can and should put their own personality and flavor into one of their most important days of their lives!

On marriage, pregnancy & being business partners…

Imagine being married to someone who’s completely opposite of you, carrying their child in your belly and making business decisions together. Does it sound epic?! Or a total nightmare? Because it can be both 🙃

Our days consist of working together from 8am to 4pm. Stating aloud that we are in husband and wife mode now, making dinner and then saying aloud again that we are in soon-to-be parents mode, taking birthing classes together in the evening…
.and doing it all over the next day. On weekends we make time to go on a date and explore Sedona. Or sometimes we are so tired we don’t make time for anything during the weekends.

It may sound boring, simple, complicated or maybe repetitive to you. However you want to interpret it, but for us, it requires a lot of work, patience and love. There are days we don’t like each other very much, and then there are days that we fall deeper in love with one another… 💕

Take last night for example, we made burrito bowls from leftover ingredients in our fridge and I had some leftover flowers from an event this past weekend. Roger said it was the best meal we made in a while and I was so happy to see a single rose I reused in a wine glass of water sitting between us.

I can’t explain the moment, but for a moment we both locked eyes and felt pure happiness…

Love is simple, we make it harder than it needs to be.

Enjoy the moments more than the milestones. ✨

Here’s why we are all for micro-weddings:

1) only your closest family & friends get to attend. more than that would mean the attention is no longer on you and your beloved.

2) you get to be in deep presence and connection with everyone day of. We’ve done the whole big wedding thing and I personally forgotten to talk to some people who have attended!

3) you get to keep things simple yet sophisticated. Life is already complicated with all its ups and downs, why make your wedding day complicated with all the added stress?

Wedding season is here in Sedona!! Which means love is in the air 💕

Contrary to popular belief… sunsets are overrated and sunrises are all the rage 😉

I like to wake up before the sunrises so I can catch it cast a beautiful cotton candy color over our deck . 🍭

then I set up my favorite yoga mat and move my body and chant my mantras.

Here are my favorites in addition to the above:

Roger and I got married November 14, 2021 in Sedona, AZ. That same year, we were planning our wedding, renovating the space and juggling both of our businesses (this was right when we purchased this property and before was born)

It was a very stressful year for us, and there were many times that I thought we wouldn’t make it as a couple…

My trainer use to say to me: “Tough times never last, but tough people do” in a middle of a deadlift.. And I have pretty much applied that quote to all aspects of my life, including our marriage. 💍

In hindsight, I would have done a lot of things differently. (Like go for a much smaller wedding or even eloped) but then again, life has a funny way of showing you where your service is needed…

I still remember the first couple that “eloped” at our space. They sent us pictures afterwards of their wedding photos and that was when we serendipitously realized we were meant to hold space for couples.🥹

We are excited to continue serving mindful couples, who deeply care about their love, sees marriage as a sacred ceremony and values deep intimacy. 💕✨

🥳Celebrating one year of being married!!! Today!!!

This time last year we were bawling our eyes out serving tea to our parents on our deck in Sedona.

And because we are super nerdy, 🤓we researched divorce risk factors by length of marriage…

Turns out years 1-2 of marriage is HIGH risk of divorce. And that’s because the first year of any marriage is usually rocky (🙋🏻‍♀️🙋🏻‍♂️that was us) and if it wasn’t for community, couples we admire, and of course both of us consciously choosing one another every day this past year… (I’ll leave that to your imagination)

…So if you’re a newlywed and still in your 1st year of marriage, we totally get it and are here for you! Always feel free to reach out. ☺️ Roger will respond to your DMs, I will be tunnel visioned working on a guest experience and will respond later!

And if you’re happily married for years, then dang! Can we learn from the two of you ?! Roger and I are always learning and would love to learn from the best, the happiest and the most supportive.

Now let’s make it to two years bebe! 🙌🏻
