Towel tip: if you have white towels for guests to use leave out some of these black makeup towels for guests and it will save you time and money on buying new hand towels.

We soon realized that unexpected mishaps would come up like broken sprinklers and fallen limbs.

We updated the other 2nd guest room by painting the walls, trim, closets and bought new bedding.

Amenities make a difference when starting an AIrBnb/VRBO. We bought and added a ping pong table to add some entertainment for our guests and a Coffe Bar.

Updating the number of guests. When we updated the first bedroom we decided to add a bunk bed so we could allow more guests to stay at our place. We went from being able to have six guests to eight. We decided to paint the bunk bed white to match the decor. We also bought new bedding, sheets and pillows for the new bunk bed.

Updating one of the bedrooms. We decided to update one of the bedrooms. We took out an old desk that was in the room and a Tv stand. We bought all new bedding pillows and sheets as well.

Reviews are very important in the Airbnb/VRBO world. In order to get more bookings you have to have good reviews. We were excited to get our first review!! It was a five star one!!

It was time to get rid of the big tube TV and update to a smart TV in the living room. The TV we got rid of survived the big flood of 1998 at my parents house. It was completely submerged under water and still managed to work.

The next step and our biggest project was removing all the old carpet upstairs and getting new flooring. It was a hard to make a decision by looking at small samples but we ware happy with how they turned out.
Tip: if you have a rental get rid of all carpet. It makes it a whole lot easier to clean for guests.

Every AirBnb/VRBO needs a good guidebook for guests!!

After our first guests we realized we needed to have better river access.

So when you have Airbnb guests coming next week and you can’t wait on contractors to come out to give bids to make river access safe, you take matters into your own hands. We had to pull a decades old dangerous heavy metal ladder out of the river and up a very steep bank with brute strength and ropes. Denny constructed a temporary wooden stairway entrance into the water until we can get something more permanent.

We are getting new flooring upstairs this week. And we will be increasing our sleeping capacity from 6 to 10 soon. Stay tuned....will post links soon.

After taking our house off the market. We put the house on AirBnB not knowing it published and went live before we even had the house ready. We had our booking and guests were arriving in 5 days. We had a lot to do in those 5 days. We power washed, did yard work, bought new pillows and sheets, a BBQ grill and an outdoor table and chairs. We literally worked 5 days straight to get the house ready,

Welcome to our page!! A few months ago we put our parents house on the market. We got several offers over the asking price within the first few days. Even with these crazy offers we just couldn’t pull the trigger. This house has a lot of history. We all felt we just had to much of an emotional attachment, memories and history dating back 75 years ago. Hence…… our new adventure!! Introducing our new Airbnb/VRBO….Nolan Street Riverhouse!!
