Here's a McNairy County snow day gem for you. Compliments of McNairy County Music Hall of Fame!

Fred Prentiss's place at Eastview TN was a frequent site of local music making. This photo, which resurfaced this week thanks to Marjorie Richard, was taken on the inside of the Prentiss store. Pictured are two Hall of Famers: Stanton Littlejohn (fiddle) and sister Eunice Littlejohn Smith (piano). Other pickers include Fred Prentiss (cello), Pud Smith (mandolin), and an unknown guitarist. Let us know if you can identify the guitarist or anyone else in the photo!
Though cello isn't often thought of as an old-time music instrument, it was really quite common in this area, which goes to show there are no rules in music making; just what sounds right to the musicians.
