Timing Map for Monday, February 3rd, 2025

As we move into Monday morning, many will already be waking up to snow falling. Portions of the Upper Peninsula will start overnight as we reach saturation after 3 AM. Once we get into the peak morning commute hours of 5-7 AM, snow will be ongoing for much of the norther Lower Peninsula, especially from Traverse City over to Rogers City. Snow will also be trickling south into our areas in green by no later than 8 AM. A huge "IF" for snow making it further south, it would be into the Midland/Mount Pleasant areas after 7:30 AM.

2-4" of snow, upwards of 3-6" are possible in spots especially along and between the M-72 and M-32 corridors. Travel will become heavily affected by snow and reduced visibilities. Many backroads/seasonal roads will need 4WD to navigate, and travel time will perhaps double in spots.

~Significant Lake Effect Event Wednesday-Sunday~

A rather significant lake effect event is expected for the second half of this week for areas along Lake Michigan and Lake Superior. Currently, the highest totals are expected in the eastern half of the UP but heavy snowfall is expected along Lake Michigan and the western third of the UP.. As usual, snowfall rates will sometimes near or exceed 1" an hour, making travel very difficult. Snowfall totals could be near 2' in some areas, but the exact location is still uncertain.

I'm talking to Micheal from Kryptonite Weather later today on the plan, but we are leaving Wednesday evening to be up there by Thursday morning. From there, haven't planned yet but looking like toward Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan.

Motorcycle Vet Ride
Saturday June 1, 2024

Come join us for our 13th Annual Motorcycle Vet Ride.

The cost is $30 per person for non-Veterans
(This includes guided motorcycle ride, dinner)

Commemorative shirts are also available for $30 per shirt for non veterans.
**This will be a different shirt from the Snowmobile Vet Ride**

All participating Active Duty and Military Veterans ride for free and get a free shirt to honor our brave Men and Women of the
United States Armed Forces.
** All Veterans must be present to receive a free shirt**

*Private property trails are closed, but state and federal trails are open. 99% of the trails in the 12”-20”+ are open 12 months a year.
