We would like to take a moment to express our deepest love for our sister communities both in Tennessee and North Carolina.
There is a pride that comes with being mountain folk. It's one of the main reasons that our areas are so visited by those from around the world. We have a resilience and independence that comes with kindness and compassion for those around us. Those characteristics of our people are on display now. The loss and devastation of those areas are prominent, but the amazing qualities of these wonderful people are shining through their grief.

We are grateful that our area is mostly unaffected by last week's events and that our businesses are running and welcoming in our guests. As you travel here to enjoy the attractions and atmosphere of our mountains, we ask firstly that you travel with all safety. Secondly, we ask that you keep those people in your thoughts and prayers when you see the beautiful mountains that they call home.

Please join us in wishing the owner of FRP, Fred frost, a Happy 69th Birthday! Our social media pages typically expound on the wonderful person that our founder, Lisa Frost, was. Rarely do we get an opportunity to do the same for her husband, Fred. Today, we are choosing to seize the occasion to do so.

Fred is a man who has spent his life dedicated to giving a voice to the underrepresented backbone workers of his community. While he was using his platform to raise those individuals up, he also used it to call out those who would exploit their labor while ignoring their humanity. He has spent his career exemplifying the concept of accountability and obligation for one’s integrity and his personal life dedicated to amplifying the goodness of those around him. It is typical of his character to shrug off well-earned praise and project his accomplishments towards others in his life. He credits Lisa, his mother and grandmother for all his good characteristics and he sings the praises of his friends. However, we are blessed in knowing him for himself. He is, at the core, a true representation of a good man. It’s our honor to shine a light on him, if only for today.

He is responsible for keeping Lisa’s dream alive, as well as her memory. He does so by being a testament to her wisdom and good taste. We are blessed to not only call him our employer, but we are privileged to call him our family.
