The Seward Silver Salmon Derby Ball was a great success. Our tickets sold out and 105 people were in attendance! It was great to bring together our community and raise funds for fish restoration with our split the pot raffle.
A huge thank you to Stoney Creek Brewhouse for being our official sponsor at the ball and providing delicious drinks!
Captain Jack's Seafood Locker was generous to process fish for us and donate a Dungeness Crab as a raffle prize.
Thank you to Turning Heads Kennel Major Marine Tours and J-Dock Fishing Co. for donating raffle prizes!
We had local DJ Hank bring in all the dancers with his tunes and amazing music from jazz band IcyGrooves to get the party started.
Anneliese Kupfrian catered outstanding sushi and appetizers for everyone to enjoy.

The application to apply for the Sister City Exchange visit to Obihiro, Japan is now live! The trip takes place approximately from October 26 - November 2nd. It is open to all community members of Seward over the age of 18. Submit your application by 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 22 to the City Clerk’s office.

This past week high school students from our sister city Obihiro, Japan visited Seward and did a ton of Seward activities, like go on the IdidaRide Sled Dog Tours, take a tour of AVTEC and their boat simulator, renting electric bikes from Seward Bike Shop, bubblenet feeding on a Major Marine whale watching tour, a hike to Exit Glacier, plus so much more! Thank you to every person who helped make this trip wonderful for these girls. Here are some pics from throughout the week:
