Air Mail Presentation on Saturday, June 22nd at 1:00pm in the Jones Bank Theater of the NENG Museum. Kathy Alonso will be presenting. Kathy has a master's degree in history from UNO. She became interested in air mail while organizing the national air mail week at the Nebraska State Historical Society. She has also scanned and labeled the aviation photos at the Durham Museum in Omaha.
She will be discussing the importance of air mail in flight development, particularly night flying as July 1 marks the 100th anniversary of scheduled night flying. There is a particular focus on Nebraska aviation with examples of how many men involved were veterans or assisted the military in other ways.
FREE and OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.
