On May 29th, 2022 while the Legend was anchored in the Chiswell Islands we had a very exciting encounter with T073B, also known as Kwenis. Kwenis is a mature male transient orca that made international headlines back in 2018 when he decided to grab a sailboats anchor line in Comox Bay, BC and play bumper boats with other vessels anchored in the bay. (FYI Comox British Columbia is over 2,400 miles away from Seward). Apparently Kwenis has a very expensive taste in chew toys! In this video you will see Kwenis towing the 53' Legend in circles while my deckhand Noah is trying to hoist in the anchor with our very powerful hydraulic winch. At the time we didn't know that Kwenis was playing with us and were afraid that he had somehow gotten tangled in our anchor. Our urgency to pull the anchor at the time was for fear that he was drowning. It wasn't until he reached the surface that I saw the anchor line was in his mouth!

All three of our Vessels were built by Delta Marine Industries out of Seattle Washington. The 53’ Legend and Legacy, and the 43’ Renegade are all built for speed, comfort, and all have 360° walk around decks as well as indoor seating. We limit our tours to 14-16 passengers which allows us to offer a more personalized experience and makes us the perfect alternative for those wanting to avoid the large capacity tour boats with several hundred passengers. Call today and let us take you into the heart of the Kenai Fjords National Park! 907-224-5210
