Just a reminder school is in session. If you see a bus with red lights flashing and the stop sign out, you must stop. For the safety of someone else's child. You definitely don't want someone's child being injured by your car.

UPCOMING FROM PARKS, RECREATION & TOURISM:
October 14th - 20th / Harvest Fall-Scarecrow Stroll & Best Scarecrow/Gourd Carving Contests:
Three Harvest Celebrations are planned!
First, we are encouraging the local businesses to participate in decorating their storefronts for
the town’s ”Harvest Fall-Scarecrow Stroll”, which will run from Oct. 14th to Oct. 20th. We
want to encourage the town folks to catch the fall spirit by strolling downtown to vote for
your favorite business’s décor at their place of business.
Next, residents are invited to decorate their homes in a fun scarecrow theme. Decorate your
home, register your address with the PRT and you will be entered into the judging which will
take place Oct. 14th & 15th.
And to cap it off, Shady Cove PRT is partnering with SC elementary school’s PTO to host the
Best Scarecrow and Gourd Carving Contests at their Harvest Carnival event on Oct 20th.
Scarecrow and Gourd entries are open to residents and businesses alike.

November 11th / Flag Raising Ceremony – In Honor of Veterans Day
Flag raise starts at 9am at City Hall, followed by a continental breakfast.
December 8th/ Shady Cove Tree Lighting and Holiday Celebration: Details to Follow, but Santa told
us that he will be there!

do you like to write? Do you want to work behind the scenes or enjoy working with the public? Do
you have marketing or social media skills? Do you enjoy photography? The list of skills needed
goes on and on, and even if you feel you have nothing more than a kind word or a smile to offer, we
need you. When a community comes together, there is no stopping the movement. We invite you
to be a part of it!

Heads up! 🚗 We'll be partnering with Jackson County Sheriff Oregon and Oregon State Police to conduct a Saturation Patrol tomorrow (9/29) and Saturday (9/30) from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. along Highway 62/Crater Lake Highway.

We'll be focusing on speed and distracted driving, which is a significant cause of the crashes we've been seeing.

The consequences of speeding and distracted driving are serious, costly, and deadly. If you’re driving, watch your speed, keep your hands on the wheel and your eyes on the road. 👍
