It has been a while since I did any kind of personal life update on here so here you go:

Hi! I'm Emily. I've been in real estate since I graduated from North Carolina State University in 2015. In 2018 I got married to my hottie of a husband, Sean and since then we have brought two gorgeous children into the world, Blakely (3) and Clark (6 months.)

Me and my husband are the 8th generation to join my family's farm in Bladen County and we grow corn, peanuts, and soybeans. Additionally, we started Bladen Outdoors in 2021 where we grow sunflowers and host a Labor Day Dove Hunt for about 150 people.

We spend our time pretty equally divided between the farm in Clarkton, NC, Lake Waccamaw, NC, and Ocean Isle Beach, NC. (I have a lot of miles on my car, to say the least.)

As far as real estate goes, the territories I cover are Bladen, Columbus, Brunswick, and New Hanover Counties. Basically Calabash up to Wilmington and inland as far as Clarkton.

I am completely convinced that Ocean Isle Beach is Heaven on Earth and every time I visit a new place I am even more firm in my opinion. We were lucky enough to always vacation here growing up and then one year after a fantastic peanut crop, my parents and grandparents purchased our family home on OIB when I was a freshman in college. I was able to spend my summers in college working here which provided me some great experience working with people and led me to meet my now husband and ultimately give me my two beautiful babies.

I've watched my parents over the years and now I see it in my own family-how happy we all are when we get some time to relax and have a weekend at the beach and I just want the same for as many people as possible. I will of course help anyone and everyone with their real estate goals whether that is buying or selling... but my absolute favorite is when I get approached by a couple around my parents' age, who have worked really hard and are thinking about buying a beach house for their family to enjoy. That's what I get the most excited about.

We’ve been quiet lately in anticipation of the newest member of our family. We welcomed a perfect, healthy baby girl in early December and are excited to ramp back up after the New Year! Wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

With everything going on in Western NC, it feels very selfish and inauthentic to post about visiting the beach, renting a beach home, etc. So many people without the very basic necessities, homes and lives lost. My full-time job is as a nurse leader in a busy Emergency Department and we know first hand what kind of devastation a natural disaster can bring after Hurricane Matthew and Florence. We are deploying nurses to go help every few days but trying to focus on anything else is difficult. I hope that as short-term rental hosts, we can provide housing for displaced families that reside in the mountains as they rebuild. There are hosts with homes in the mountains that have also faced property losses, cancelled bookings and more which also affects their livelihoods. We continue to keep our state and surrounding areas affected in our thoughts and prayers as we do what we can to help them recover.

Condos are a great starter investment at the Brunswick Beaches. It’s easy to use them for short-term rentals in the peak season and mid-term rentals during Snowbird and golf season. There are some great condos on the market that would be a great investment for anyone looking to get in the STR game, and we can help get you listed on direct booking sites to start making revenue ASAP! Making preparations for severe weather throughout the year can prevent a last minute scramble. Having a trustworthy property manager can also prevent a last minute drive to the beach to make preparations. Boots on the ground go a long way! 🥾 Regardless, we’re going to get wet this week! Rain 🌧️

📌The ultimate forecast track and strength of Tropical Storm Debby is very much up in the air, and as my grandpa would say that it is about as clear as mucky water. However, it appears regardless of where the system goes we will see several inches of rain Tuesday-Friday, areas across parts of South Carolina low country could see over 20” of rain. Right now the forecast calls for 3-12” of rain across North Carolina, with the heaviest along the coast. This will cause Flash Flooding especially as the rain starts to pile up, this is not the amount of rainfall we saw during Florence and Matthew though.

The forecast on Debby continues to rapidly change, I’ll have more on my thoughts about the system later this morning.

My love for the Brunswick Beaches began on this porch. My grandparents bought land on the ICW in Holden Beach when “there was nothing there.” My grandmother said you could stand in a neighbors second story window and see the ocean. I spent most of my summers here and it’s my favorite place to be. My passion for MSea Properties is two-fold - to help other people fall in love with this place and help homeowners be able to afford to own property here that they can share with their families.
