This month's event features 90 vendors, loads of food trucks, and, of course, live music. You can take in a movie at Aztec Shawnee Theater (spoiler: it's "The Goonies) and hit up downtown shops and craft breweries, too.

Catch it all in Downtown Shawnee, KS at 11110 Johnson Drive. The party starts at 4 p.m. and runs (officially) until 8. 🌝

Are you ready for an adventure? Today is National Scavenger Hunt Day and we have something fun for you to do as an activity! The Art Nine Disc Golf Course recently opened at Shawnee Mission Park and there are ten art sculptures placed around the course.

In the attached graphic, there are ten close-up photos of each art sculpture. If you go out to the course, see if you can match up each photo to its correct sculpture. Take a photo of the art sculpture and tag us.

This new disc golf course is located near the inclusive playground in the southeast part of the park.

🚴 Pedal into action at the 34th Annual Tour de Shawnee Bike Ride on Sunday, May 5th! Support JDRF while enjoying cycling fun. Choose from supported, family-friendly 4 or 12-mile routes or longer, unsupported, 30 or 39-mile options. All routes start and end at Shawnee City Hall. We’re having some Cinco de Mayo fun a little early on Saturday, May 4, with FIVE beer releases and tacos! 🌮 One of our most popular stouts — Aztec Alchemist — will return on tap and in cans! This 12% Mexican-style imperial stout features flaked corn, lactose, ancho chili peppers, cinnamon sticks, wildflower honey, cocoa powder, vanilla and cocoa nibs. In addition to the base beer, we’ll release three variants — Coconut, Coffee and Hazelnut! 🥥☕️🍫 We'll also release JOCO Loco - Classic Margarita, a 5% fruited gose with pink Himalayan sea salt, lime juice and agave syrup, on tap and in cans! 🍹 Point and Flat BBQ will be serving up tacos 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Rotary Club of Shawnee Bike Rodeo is this Saturday, May 4th from 9:00am to 12:00pm at Shawnee Mission Northwest High School. 🚴‍♀️🚴🚴‍♂️

Kids, ages 5-12, are invited to bring their bikes to Shawnee Mission Northwest High School for a morning of fun activities. In addition to the bicycle safety course, all youth who participate will receive a FREE bicycle helmet, t-shirt, and certificate of completion. The Shawnee Mission Northwest National Honor Society will be hosting carnival games from 9:30am - 11:30am and the Northwest Drum Line will be performing at 10:30am.

The Shawnee Kansas Police Department, CORE Division, Shawnee Kansas Fire Department, City of Shawnee, KS Government Parks and Recreation, AdventHealth Centra Care, and Trek Bicycle Shawnee will have booths and activities for kids and families to enjoy.

This event is made possible through support from the Rotary Club of Shawnee Foundation, Advent Health, Rhine Benninghoven PTO, and the City of Shawnee.

Opening remarks begin at 10:00am. Enjoy a walk on the newly re-paved trails or take part in a pick-up game on one of our four baseball fields. For our younger friends, soar above the playground on the first of its kind in North America, Lunia, a 30-foot tall hot air balloon!
