Today, as the year comes to a close, Blue would like to celebrate the solo traveler... specifically, two adventurers, Sarah and Chelsey.

The city of Light was that much brighter when Sarah visited Paris in September. Exploring the city streets and the museums that dot every arrondissments... Sarah definitely experienced Vive la France!

Meanwhile, in Tuscany and Rome, Chelsey tried her hand at pizza making (and yummo glasses of Chianti). In Roma days spent at the Colosseum and Vatican were full of wonder. Blue is super impressed when Chelsey decided to visit Pisa and its famous tower; she successfully navigated the TrenItalia app and train service from Tuscany.

Blue celebrates all the solo travelers and looks forward to creating custom solo vacations in 2024!

“Why have you not taken her back yet, you fool?” 💌😝 We often get to quote our Chairman Tom McAlpin but rarely does he deliver a line so impactful that it reunites (and reignites) an entire relationship. That’s exactly what happened to Kylie, who met our fun and fearless leader on Scarlet Lady’s MerMaiden voyage.

Even throughout their divorce, she and her ex-husband promised each other that they’d go on this cruise. Kylie made good on that promise and while on that trip she told Tom her story. He made a quick video to send to her ex, which triggered their getting back in touch — and eventually back together. A few months later, they booked another cruise on Virgin Voyages and the rest is sweet history.

If you have honeymooned with Blue in Greece or have a Blue Greek honeymoon coming up, I was / am your travel advisor as Greece is one of my specialties.

You'll also know that despite what you have read or heard, I don't think:
-"Athens is a waste of time"
-"Athens is dirty"
-"Who cares about all that history stuff"

During this visit to Athens, in addition to visiting the Acropolis (UNESCO World Heritage site, a place ALL humans need to see at least once),
I:
- Shopped Athen's version of NYC's 5th Avenue
- Sipped cocktails in the glow of the Parthenon
-Learned a traditional Greek dance with professional folk dancers (no photos of that, luckily!)
-Tasted my way all over Athens. Visiting family owned shops and restaurants featuring locally sourced artisan:, olive oil, spinach pie, spices, koulori, yogurt, and loukoumades.
- Viewed the elaborate and moving hourly 'Changing of the Guards' directly across from my hotel Syntagama Square. Each soldier's dress and march honors Greece's 1832 independence from 400 years of Turkish rule.

The above us only a fraction of everything Athens has to offer. It will always be my personal opinion a visit to Greece without Athens is like Santorini without a wine tasting, Crete without a beach day or Mykonos without a sunset!

Day 2 in Oia, Santorini's second largest town. Our hotel the beautiful Santo Pura (pix to follow), is just a 10 minute walk to the historic center of Oia. Early risers will get to enjoy the town before the shops open and the crowds arrive. Want to shop? Arrive before noon when the cruise ship passengers arrive. Oia is the most crowded at sunset. If you want to enjoy a long lingering sunset, make dinner reservations at a restaurant overlooking the caldera.

Crossed the glass walkway that connects the two towers of London's Tower Bridge Less famous to Americans to Lindon Bridge(whose most recent iteration is a boring, flat, concrete thing built in the 1960s ) Tower Bridge has been steadfastly at its post for almost 20 years. The two towers were originally designed with the catwalk for maintaining the Bridge. Today, it's available to tour and cross above both river and bridge traffic. Perched on a cliff overlooking the Aegean Santo Pura is a blissful respite from Oia crowds, but close enough (10 minutes walk) to the Caldera and old town square The concrete villas are cool respite from the Santorini sun. Each suite consists of a bedroom, bathroom, living room, and kitnette. The main pool boasts the resort's restaurant and bar. Each block of villas has its own pool, and each suite has a private infinity pool or hot tub.
