If I could live my life over again,
I would have gone to bed to rest when I felt sick instead of pretending the earth would stop if I wasn't at work for a day...
I would have burned the pink candle carved like a rose instead of letting it melt in the pantry...
I would have talked less and listened more...
I would have invited friends to the table even if there is a stain on the carpet and the couch needs to be cleaned.
I would have eaten popcorn in the "good" room and wouldn't have worried so much about dust when someone wanted to light a fire in the fireplace.
I would have taken the time to listen to my grandfather telling stories from his youth.
I would never have insisted on driving with the car windows down on a beautiful summer day, just because my hair was freshly styled and fixed.
I would have been lying on the meadow with my head on the grass.
I would have cried and laughed less watching TV and more watching life.
But, most of all, to have a second chance at life, I would cherish every moment, I would really look at it... I would live it...
I wouldn't get so worked up over petty and petty things anymore...
Don't worry about those who don't like you, or rather, you shouldn't care who does what...
Instead, let's cherish the friends we have and the people who love us...
And to what we do every day to improve our mind, body, soul, emotions.

A good friend I met on one of our Stolen Horse International-NetPosse Missing and Stolen Equine's Horse Lovers Summit 2025s sent this to me today and said, "I love how much you laughed on the lake trip." It reminded me that I need to do this more and not take life so seriously all the time. She was right. It felt so good to laugh again and again and then laugh some more. This is one reason I love what I do through our nonprofit organization. I meet the most wonderful kind people. Thank you, Kim Carpenter!

My Mom made the best ______? Granny Bailey made the best seven-layer chocolate cake with pecans and cherries on the top. There were so many dishes she excelled at, but this is one of my favorites and one thing I miss most and was served only at Christmas.

Piece by piece, the little farm house came together and rested quietly on the dirt road amid hundreds of acres of cotton.

Q.H. Metcalfe and his wife, Nell, owned the home, which they paid cash for in the 1970s.

Not long after they finished it, Q.H. died, and Nell was left alone in the house. She lived in three of its rooms until she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and had to move in with her family.

Faced with the question of what to do with Nell’s house, her son and his wife, Harold and Debi Metcalfe, felt in their hearts that they couldn’t sell or rent it.
