Low- and moderate-income families can receive a $200 "WA Clean Energy Credit" to be applied to their electric bills through the Clean Energy Credits program, which has limited funds and is available for a limited time. The program is funded by Washington’s Climate Commitment Act (CCA), which supports the state's climate action by reducing pollution, creating jobs, and improving public health. Planning your summer swimming activities? Please be aware. On July 19, 2024, two no-contact advisories were issued by Mason County Environmental Health for the beaches at Twanoh and Belfair State Parks in Mason County. These advisories are due to high levels of f***l bacteria found during routine water sampling. The public is advised to avoid contact with water in the affected area until further notice. Contact with f***l-contaminated waters can result in gastroenteritis, skin rashes, upper respiratory infections, and other illnesses. Children and those who are immunocompromised may be more vulnerable to waterborne illnesses. It is recommended to shower after swimming and wash hands before eating if you’ve been in contact with the water or sand. The Business After Hours event at Peninsula Credit Union, celebrated the multicultural community and brought together Chamber members for an evening of networking and enjoyment. Attendees enjoyed live music from Vozess Singers Show, delicious appetizers from Wild & Woodsy Catering, and refreshments. A highlight was the raffle featuring a basket of local goodies from Hispanic-owned businesses like Maggie’s Market and Mestizo’s restaurant. Peninsula Credit Union shared community member stories and information about their ITIN lending program, emphasizing their commitment to diversifying loan options and supporting local members.
