Third day of wedding Thank You's goes to Karla Rubin from Clarinda Flower Shop https://www.facebook.com/Clarinda-Flower-Shop-108394959201845/?fref=ts. It is always a great day when I get to stop in and talk to Karla! Karla has been there for so many of the events in Ashton's life and now we can add her wedding to that list of events! Karla was so helpful and right on point with everything we wanted! Clarinda Flower Shop designed all of the bouquets, boutonnieres and the garland for the head table, all of which were stunningly beautiful! Thank you Karla to you and your staff for making Ashton's day exactly what she had dreamed of.

To continue my post of thanking all of the venders that helped with my daughters wedding next on the list is John Spriggs from Creston, Iowa. John is a Jack of all trades and one of his amazing talents is floral design. Ashton showed John the look she was going for and he absolutely nailed it. I couldn't have asked for anything better. I didn't arrive at the Cottonwood Pavilion on the day of the wedding until it was completely decorated and when I stepped inside I was absolutely blown away. People that know me know that I don't cry easily and when I walked in and saw the vision that we had, come to fruition I was moved to tears!!! Thank you John Spriggs for everything you did to make Ashton's day absolutely amazing! Oh and I also need to thank John's sister for coming down and helping. Also a big thank you to his daughter Kristin Spriggs Gile for spending hours ironing linens.

It's been about about a month and a half since my youngest daughters wedding and this week is the first time I have felt like life has finally gotten back to normal! I now realize that I haven't taken the time to say what a wonderful day it was. Everyone one who was involved did such a wonderful job. Friends, family and all of the venders came together to make it the wedding Ashton and Max had dreamed of (well maybe more Ashton's dream then Max's). Over the next couple of days I will try my best to thank each of the vendors. The first on which needs to be The Cottonwood Pavilion of Shenandoah. Being a farm family we wanted a rustic venue. The Cottonwood is exactly that. The beauty of this place is that you can make it whatever you want.You can have minimal very rustic decorations or you can go rustic chic or anything in between. Thanks Kim Naven Gee and all of your staff for a great day! If you are planning to get married in Shenandoah and are looking for that barn venue be sure to check out The Cottonwood Pavilion. BTW if you are having this type of wedding and need decorations I'm looking to get rid of some!!!!!

It's hard to believe that it is only 14 weeks until Thanksgiving! If you have family coming into town or if you just need more space for Thanksgiving dinner consider renting the Grain Street Cottage. It's a great space for a family gathering! Please share this with your family and friends!!!!

Thank you Team Flat Tire! This crazy group stayed at the Grain Street Cottage last night........well most of them! One stayed in a warehouse.....not sure I want to know! And one is missing his bike helmet, if anyone finds it please give me a call! Have a great ride! Stay safe out there!

Another great week on Grain Street! Said goodbye to a great group of guys that stayed for 8 days and had just enough time to get everything cleaned back up and ready for my Ragbrai group. What an exciting weekend for Shenandoah. It's been great to see our community come together for this event!

This past weekend was my first full house. My entire family came into town for my daughters wedding! Orlando,FL, Durham,NC, Oxford MS, were all represented! Every bed was filled and so was my heart! This is the way a family get together should be, everyone in one space, not in 6 different hotel rooms.

If you are having a wedding, family reunion, class reunion, or just want to have a relaxing weekend with your friends in the Shenandoah area you should come check out this space!

Thank you to all of my family and friends that made this weekend absolutely perfect!

The Grain Street Cottage is officially open and ready to be rented. This is the perfect place for your out-of-town guests! There is a fully stocked kitchen, large living room, and sleeps 12 comfortably.

The Grain Street Cottage is open and ready for guest. If you have friends or family coming into town for graduation or a wedding and don't have enough space in your home this is the place. There are beds for 12 guest, a full kitchen, large open living too space, and is within walking distance of downtown.
