I am not normally one to tout awards and certificates….after nearly 50 years in travel , it seems a bit self-serving….BUT….I am so proud to have earned the Circle of Excellence award through my host agency for sales and service excellence during 2023-24. I am excited to accept this award at our annual conference in New Orleans next month. Anyone want to take odds I’ll be the oldest award recipient there? In case you’re keeping score, the new tire we had to buy this morning makes 7 (!) new tires we have bought in the last 10 months. Road construction? Storm debris? Growth of the area resulting in much more road activity and trash? Progress has its costs. To be exact, $185 this morning alone. Drive carefully, tip your waiters, spay and neuter your pets, and watch for road debris. Happy Monday.

More than 40 years ago I took my very first group trip to London. For several years, I did an annual spring break trip to London until I think everyone who wanted to see London had seen it. So I took a break and traveled the rest of the world with groups, with occasional stays in London when I got the chance, until this year, when I am returning again to my favorite city, London with an extension to Edinburgh. I have a another great group of travelers and we’re getting ready to takeoff for a wonderful week in London. Bon voyage indeed!

One of the most enjoyable things about our group trips is the pre trip meeting. We’re gathering tonight to visit with our group members, eat some yummy food and learn more about our private airport transfers and our great itinerary in London and Edinburgh in the next couple of weeks. So, many of you know of my fascination with England, the Royal Family (look away, Chris Dowd) and all things British. My one sighting of Queen Elizabeth II took place on one of my Spring Break in London tours several years ago on Commonwealth Day, when we waited outside Westminster Abbey to see her arrive. She was very short, beautifully dressed, and her skin was flawless!

I just realized that our upcoming trip March 9-16 will have us in London on Commonwealth Day again! Maybe we'll have another Royal sighting that day!!!

I've still got a few seats remaining for this amazing trip to London, with a 3 day extension to Edinburgh, Scotland to round out the week!
