On Wednesday, Aug. 21, representatives of U.S. Senator John Fetterman (D-PA), the Pennsylvania Manufactured Home Association (PMHA) and the Manufactured Home Institute (MHI) toured two of Cavco's home production facilities in Pennsylvania.

Led by Vince Hoover, General Manager, Commodore Homes PA, Jamey Lee, General Manager, Colony, and Joe Marshall, Sales Manager, Commodore Homes PA, the tour participants included the following:

Madeleine Marr, Sen. Fetterman’s Legislative Assistant
Olivia Reneau, Sen. Fetterman’s Legislative Aide
Joel Riethmiller, Imperium Global Advisors and Lobbyist for MHI
Mary Gaiski, Executive Vice President, Pennsylvania Manufactured Housing Association

The tour of Cavco’s plants in Clarion County, Pennsylvania (Commodore Homes PA and Colony Factory Crafted Homes) marked the first visit by the Senator’s team to a manufactured housing facility.

“They wanted to see our operation because Senator Fetterman has a keen interest in supporting affordable housing,” said Vince Hoover. “And they had never been in a manufactured home factory before.”

Commenting on their tour, Marr and Reneau found Cavco’s manufactured homebuilding process “intriguing” and the completed homes amazing. They were most impressed by the ability to build a home from start to finish in as little as two days.

“After doing the plant walkthrough, we took them through some of our show homes that we’ll be showcasing at the 2024 Fall Show,” said Joe Marshall. “For example, the Astro Barndominium that we took a picture in front of.”

Marr and Reneau stressed the importance of the manufactured housing industry to the overall housing market and keeping quality homes affordable.

This aligns closely with Cavco’s central mission of building quality affordable homes and solving the affordable housing crisis by helping our customers buy and protect homes that improve their lives.

Cavco Industries works proactively to promote the benefits of manufactured housing and the ways it can be part of the solution to the manufactured housing crisis.

Cavco CEO and President Bill Boor often works with lawmakers to promote housing legislation and testifies in congressional hearings as an industry expert. Recently, he attended a signing ceremony with Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs for legislation passed that reduces barriers, red tape and restrictions on housing in Arizona.
