Soon United Will End Service And Require Passengers To Put Away Laptops Earlier: United Airlines will require cabins to be prepared for landing earlier in order to protect cabin crew from injuries. Starting December 1, flight attendants will have to be belted at their jumpseats, prepared for landing, at around 10,000 feet when the double chime sounds.

This is the last thing you ever want to see. Through at least 9am, there’s a nationwide ground stop. This means the FAA won’t be issuing clearances to take off for flights…

The FAA has the ground stop also listed until 1430z, which is 9:30am eastern- making me think that’s when they THINK they can start clearing things.

Important note: This is all for safety. Sure, it’s a pain in the ____, but the FAA keeps the national airspace system safe. There is a reason we are as safe as we are flying… because of systems like this. Before getting frustrated, remember, this is a safety measure.
