Handlers needed for the 2024/25 school year! Do you or someone you know have a flexible schedule during the week to travel with our student groups? Do you love to serve others and enjoy experiencing new places and new things?

We are looking for some more awesome people who reflect our core values (Communicate with Excellence, Engage with Intentionality, Serve with Enthusiasm, and Adapt with Grace) to join our team. Interest meetings are being held regularly in Simpsonville, SC and Charlotte, NC, and applications are being accepted NOW for the Winter/Spring!

Had a great day at Carowinds today hosting a Festival of Music preview with our friend Shannon Davis. Thanks to the many educators from North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia who participated!

We’re at our first conference of the new school year in Myrtle Beach with SC school administrators, and our new game “Clinko” is a hit! Congrats to Cecil Bonner from Anderson County School District 5 for getting the highest score of the day with 23 out of a possible 25 points!

Partnering with school leaders often means that our Handlers both work hard and play hard - we are in the student travel business! We've enjoyed taking multiple middle and high school performing arts groups to perform at Festival Disney, collect some serious hardware, and play in the parks the past few weeks. We wanted to send a special shoutout to our Handlers for ensuring that both the students AND adult leaders are warming their vocal cords during these Disney trips!

The unique moments in DC are piling up this travel season!! One of our middle school groups had the privilege of meeting a 101 year old WW2 veteran who received the Congressional Gold Medal at the U.S. Capitol this week at the National Museum of the United States Army . "Bernie" Bluestein and his special unit has a fascinating story...

"For decades, their mission during World War II was a secret. With inflatable tanks, trucks and planes, combined with sound effects, radio trickery, costume uniforms and acting, the American military units that became known as the Ghost Army helped outwit the enemy. It’s fun to brag on our Handlers, and many of our new team members make it really easy to do just that! We’re receiving a record amount of 5* reviews on Google and many of our newcomers are playing significant roles in making this happen. Huge shout out to Liz (Elizabeth Phillips) and Hannah for representing our team and the 4th Grade from Anderson District One they served this past week in Charleston!

Seeing our Nation’s Capitol from the perspective of an Orange Sky Handler is unique and rewarding! Our Team is always looking for ways to serve our groups, no matter if it’s taking group pictures, strategizing with an irinerary, picking up trash, sorting room keys, or simply lending a hand (or an ear) to a new friend in need. This week we have over 1,000 travelers in DC and 20 OST Handlers! Thank you to Erin Jones for your work on the front end and for all of the “orange people” who are serving our groups well in DC and beyond this week! Thanks as well to Tim Scott for stopping and saying hello to one of our groups!

What a view! We enjoyed traveling with 100+ eighth graders, teachers, and parents this past week to NYC. Huge thanks to Edge NYC for hosting our group and allowing us to watch the sunset go down on this amazing city.

Thanks for the amazing partnership, Rudolph Gordon School and Charlotte Motor Speedway STEAM! We love serving Greenville County Schools and many others while working alongside terrific destination partners to provide impactful experiences for students and chaperones like these!

We’re excited to be at the annual North Carolina Music Educators Association conference this week in Winston Salem and meet with more North Carolina music educators. We have become known for our unique games, and often get puzzling looks from other vendors. Here’s our friend Shannon Davis with Carowinds having another smh moment with our Orange Sky team. It might look odd, but this game plays! Stop by if you’re at Benton Convention Center and try your luck…you could walk away with some cash!

We’re at Moraine Lake in Banff National Park in Canada doing a site visit for an upcoming high school group visit in September. Those 50+ students are in for a treat! If you teach photography, geography, geology, natural science, animal science, or simply want to provide students with an incredible outdoor adventure, this would be a great destination. More to come!

We celebrated another year of school partnerships earlier this week and enjoyed delicious food, games, fellowship, and an update from our F.O.O.S.H. president Tom David Enter. We’re truly grateful for an amazing team of Orange Sky handlers and staff. Thanks to each of you for serving each other and our groups so well this year!

We’ve taken Barbara Wagher and her student groups from Wren Elementary on many trips over the years, and now she’s taking a part of us with her on her personal travels! Thanks for repping Orange Sky Travel in Jamaica, the truck show, your blueberry farm, and beyond! We wish all of our education partners the absolute best summer break…you deserve it!

Tomorrow night’s the big show for a number of middle school chorus students from Greenville County Schools as they perform at Carnegie Hall in NYC! The groups have been exploring the city and rehearsing for a couple of days as they prepare to take the stage. Tonight they will be on the other side of the stage watching the classic Broadway Play, WICKED The Musical!

As an Orange Sky Travel Handler, it’s special to experience so many “firsts” with students, parents, and teachers. Sometimes we even get to watch other Handlers experience their “firsts”! Thank you Ruth for showing Mandy the ropes in Helen, GA this week with one of our middle school groups…one of our favorite schools + perfect weather + conquered fears = an amazing day at the office!
