Final comments in this resort: The Iberostar is a great resort, a complex of 5 hotels with one Adults Only (the Grand) and 4 additonal family resorts (the Maya Suites, Lindo, Beach, and DelMar). There is a ton to do with massive pools and a great beach area. Attached are photos of the Maya Suites Complex.

Re: Beach & Water Stations
Beach.
It was a very nice, white sandy beach. They did a good job of trying to clean it. Itโs sargassum season so we were expecting a lot and pleasantly surprised at how well they maintained it. The beach is not filled with a ton of palm trees, itโs pretty open. But itโs a nice white, soft sandy beach. It was not rocky in the water either, which made it great for those playing in the water.
Water Stations
I was impressed with the way the resort readily made water available in a very earth-conscious manner. They did not have any bottled water around. Each room was provided with these glass bottles that could easily be refilled. Water filling stations were located outside of rooms within an easy distance to our room. They also had flavored water stations available throughout the resort. Everywhere you looked you could find one: at each bar, in the lobbies, at the snack bars and eateries, and around almost every corner! It was a nice perk, made readily available for hot days.

Re: Accessibility.
We traveled with a wheelchair and a slow walker (love you mom!). ๐ The resort was very large so there was a lot of walking. They did have golf carts that looped around a lot and would pick people up when needed. The concierge also would order a golf cart when needed so that was helpful.
The rooms were not โaccessibleโ per US standards for showering. We were able to get a wheelchair into the shower, but it was tight. Iโve been to other resorts where a roll in wheelchair would have fit easier. It would have been nice to have had a shower wand and a larger/more open toilet area.
They did have sloped walkways/ramps to access most buildings and areas. They werenโt overly wide but the wheelchair could get around.
We were able to rent a beach wheelchair through a company in Cancun. It was a beast and a little cumbersome. It also wasnโt inexpensiveโฆ Iโve been to other resorts where a beach wheelchair was available at the beach for free. So that was disappointing. We did see several families that had rented mobility scooters from the same company. Itโs nice to know itโs an option to consider when traveling.
Overall, it was manageable with a wheelchair. But we wouldnโt say ideal. Doable but challenging.

We each had a family suite which included a room with king bed connected to a room with two double beds. We all ended up getting an additional 1-3 rolled twin size beds brought in so each kiddo ended up with their own bed. The rolled in beds were actually really comfortable (not just a cot!) and itโs nice to know that you can sleep 5 individual kids in the โkids double room.โ The extra living room area helped for extra space!
Each room had its own bathroom as well as its own living room and patio.
