DESTINATION WEDDINGS!! 👰 🤵‍♂️ 🌴
They aren't for everyone, but for some, it is the perfect option. I pretty much have the best job on this planet as I get to help make a bride and groom's destination wedding a reality.
Planning a destination wedding or honeymoon is an exciting time. However, it can be quite stressful and overwhelming with all those details, decisions, and deadlines.
For starters, where is the ideal location for you? Did you know there are specific requirements for each destination? For some locations you must fly in a certain number of days prior to your wedding date. Some locations require your ceremony to be in their native language, with an English translator. Some locations even require a blood test from the bride and groom! Also, there are thousands of resorts to choose from, and thankfully, I know the ones who are great to work with (and also the ones to stay away from!)
Once we narrow where your destination wedding will be held we take these factors into consideration. How do you envision your special day? Will it be just the two of you or do you have a large guest list? Will there be children present? What is your estimated budget? What "must haves" does the resort need to offer? Once these questions are answered it usually helps me narrow the options to just a few.
Next we can look into more specific details such as resort pre-set wedding packages, bride and groom perks, wedding location options (on the beach, in a chapel, how about a gazebo?) Once we have all of these questions answered we pretty much have your desired destination wedding location chosen ~ now the fun starts!
Most resorts have on-site wedding coordinators that can help with every detail. This coordinator helps with everything from pre-wedding cocktail functions to assisting in choosing the right color schemes for you, to planning/coordinating the reception/dinner/dance following the ceremony if you so choose. While she is busy with this I get the pleasure of visiting with your family and friends about your chosen location and answering questions about the resort/amenities/airfare, basically anything about traveling to get them to your special day. You will have only one person handling your reservations, and I know all of the details of your wedding, so I try to help you make the best travel decisions. I make sure that you and all of your guests have everything you need for your perfect day, and their perfect vacation! As we get closer to travel, I send important information about the area, travel reminders, wedding itinerary and much more.
