I love the Grab and Go, truly. Often, I come in to stock it before the sun rises, before my family wakes up and anyone will miss me. I love the idea of flowers being in your homes just because. Why should we wait an occasion?! That said, this month alone - 6 days in - I’ve lost $1000 to left. Do I have cameras? Yes. Does it really help me track the flower thieves? Not so much. The thought of ending it makes my heart sad… when we bought this building my husband built a whole room around the concept. That said, I make these incredibly value forward bouquets and every time someone steals them it puts us in the red. I’m not sure it can continue: I suppose our little county is just not the same as it once was 💔 Here for all the advice if you have something productive to say!

Most of you know I’ve been working at the Sister Bay Bowl on and off for 13 years. I’ve been in the DoCo restaurant industry for 25 years and I am proud to say that I can call so many of these people friends and family. So blessed to be part of such an amazing community.

Also huge shout out to my cousin Victoria Danielle for 📸, her husband Ben representing CHOP Restaurant - Door County and her brother Ethan representing LURE Restaurant - Door County. My Grandma Carol was an inspiration for these restaurants. You can even order GG (great grandma) Carol’s Carrot Cake at Chop.

We had a great lunch meeting at the brand new restaurant Anatolia Cuisine DC! I had the beef kabobs and it definitely was every bit as tasty as I expected. Muki is a great guy creating his own American Dream and bringing Mediterranean food to our little peninsula. 💗

Our hearts go out to Scott, Julie and the Ephraim Motel /Door County Rock and Gem who lost their employee house last night. No one was hurt but it’s still a huge loss! We love you guys and let us know if we can do anything.

Mark your calendars for Cherry Blossom Season!

Our update on cherry blossoms now is May 8th- 15th. 🌸 Likely the 5/8 will be more starting in our southern orchards (Sturgeon Bay) and a few days later in our northern orchards (Sister Bay). We have had a little cooler weather which has delayed blossom time a few days since our last update.

Keep in mind, cherry blossoms are VERY dependent on the weather, so any major dips or spikes in average temperatures over the next two weeks can change this date range again. We will post another update again next week.

Interesting facts for any orchard nerds out there. This is the MOST critical few weeks in what the crop of our trees will look like. Any freezing temperatures in this time frame can kill buds thus resulting in a poor crop. We hope mother nature cooperates over the next few weeks so that we have plenty of 🍒's!
