On December 14th at 4 pm there will be a Sister Bay marina committee meeting to discuss the elimination of all public boating from the Sister Bay Marina.
If their proposal goes through, the Edith M. Becker, our 67 foot tall ship as well as the Passage North, our 40 foot sloop will no longer be offering sailing charters. Parasailing also will be abolished as will Sister Bay Scenic Tours on the Norra Dörr and boat rentals from Sister Bay Boat rental.
For Sail Door County, 23 years of making memories for families and friends will be over.
This is an act to essentially privatize boating in what is a public marina. But it’s not too late! Please email your concerns to keep boating public at the Sister Bay Marina.
The committee is proposing this in an effort to make more money by renting these slips to private individuals who are willing to pay a premium. They want to replace our wooden tall ship and our vintage racing sloop with private plastic boats for those willing to pay more.
Please voice your concern now if you care about keeping a public option for open boating open at the Sister Bay Marina.
Submit any written concerns to:
[email protected]
And please come to the Sister Bay Fire Station for a public meeting to voice your support on December 14th, 4 pm. The address is:
2258 Mill Rd, Sister Bay, WI 54234
All are welcome!
