Fun fact! The first ever Nugget Casino was built by me in 1902 right in the heart of Skagway! It was terrible! No heating, and all the games were games we learned from that one card that explains the rules of euchre.

With today’s announcement I would like to announce additional temporary schedule changes;

The Nugget Barlow water slide project is being put on hold until we can secure more funding from the government. It is set to be from the top to the bottom of Mount Harding in the former location of the rocks that were there. Two loops and a part where you get rescued by a helicopter! Its going to be great, but I need tax dollars, its the only way.
Also the Nekked Salmon art show is now going to be moved to tomorrow all day, so if you like Salmon without pants tune in its gonna be that!

Friends,

I’ve been in Skagway for three years now, and in that short time, this place has become my home, my favorite place on Earth. But before I got here, my life was on a very different path.

In 2022, I wrapped up an incredibly rewarding career at Universal Studios. That chapter ended unexpectedly when I found myself in a dangerous living situation. With nowhere else to go, I set my sights on anywhere. Friends had told me about their visits to Alaska, and something just clicked. Suddenly, the light at the end of the tunnel started shining a little brighter.

When I arrived in Skagway, I fell in love instantly. The beauty of the North, the incredible people, and the experiences shaped me in ways I never imagined. For the past three years, I’ve been lucky enough to create memories as Nugget, sharing stories and laughter with people from all over the world.

But as time went on, I started feeling the pull to be something more, something true to myself. More than anything, I want to make people happy as me, not just as a character. I want to walk around town and be Christian, a person who loves Skagway beyond words.

That’s why I’ve made the tough decision to step away from tour guiding for now and focus on what truly drives me. I want to give back to this community by being active in the local arts and performance scene. I want our home to be a creative space where people can grow as storytellers and entertainers, where they can find their voice, just like I did!

To everyone who found joy in what I did as Nugget, thank you. It means the world to me. This isn’t the end, it’s just the next chapter. I can’t wait to share it with you.
