Three years in a row!

Michelle Phillips defends her title!

In a year full of changes, one thing remained the same: Michelle Phillips is the YQ450 champion. She held off a strong push from Mayla Hill to claim first place. It was an exciting race as both mushers stopped near Stepping Stone, but ultimately Michelle's early race strategy helped her in the end as she was able to get on the trail sooner and back towards the line.

Michelle crossed the finish line at 1:08pm in this shortened YQ450 race. A huge congratulations goes to her and her team for their successful run in the 2024 Yukon Quest!

We have our winners for each of our races, but we also still have mushers on the trail. And so, as tradition calls for, the red lantern remains on until we know everyone is back home safely.

Let’s cheer on Michelle Phillips and team!

Hey Quest fans! Only 3 days till GO TIME! Our media team is excited to share with you from along the trail, as mushers and their teams head out on a new route and travel through new Yukon communities along the way. You’ll see many familiar faces—and some new faces, too. We’re grateful to the Teslin Tlingit Council and Ross River Dena Council for hosting the race through their beautiful traditional territories.

Here’s how you can get involved and follow the race:

THURSDAY - Meet the Mushers at 6:15 pm at the Gold Rush Inn in Whitehorse. Cmon down to meet your favourite mushers and get posters signed! We will Live-Stream the Bib Draw on Facebook around 7 pm.

SATURDAY - Meet the Dogs at 1 - 3 pm at Shipyard’s Park in Whitehorse. Everyone welcome to cmon down to see the pups before they head to Teslin.

SUNDAY - Race starts in Teslin, YT, at 1 pm. Our media team will bring you to the action with Facebook Livestream (temperature & technology permitting!)

Next up: Veteran Iditarod Musher, Michelle Phillips. Born and raised in the Yukon Territory, Michelle has been running dogs for almost 25 years. She has competed in and finished the Iditarod 12 times, bring home two Herbie Nayokpuk Memorial awards for excellence in dog care.
