The bears have been out the past few weeks. So good to be up in the Yukon again! Yesterday we saw two bears, two mule deer, a grouse, tons of goats, a few sheep and only one HAP bus on a 4 ship day! The quiet highway of 2022 is a dream!

Saw the first bear of 2022!!! No phone handy for a pic. Though. I named him “Uno”. What a gorgeous day! Tons of goats and an eagle right by Bove island. Such a quiet road for a 3 ship day. Me likey!

Oh my good lord it felt good to get up there again!! There were 3 ships in skagway but we only saw 4 other tours past the Canadian border!!! 2022 will be private roads for private tours!!! This is is quite the opportunity to see something absolutely unique! Here’s to a safe season ahead and wonderful new connections:)

What an amazing visit with this beautiful Lynx! Many locals have never seen a Lynx in their entire life so to spend 10 minutes watching this soul on a 2 hour tour is a major gift! The Newcomer family from Texas scored!!

TOURISM RETURNS TO SKAGWAY!! 2021!!!
I just gave Skagway’s first tour since fall of 2019!!!!! Cheers to Tammy and Sydney Braun from Colorado for being the first people to come to skagway and take a tour since the pandemic took out our industry! US Customs confirmed this was the first tour group to pass through since fall of 2019! It felt so great to visit the White Pass Summit. Now someone needs to let DOT know it’s time to remove the boards from the Alaska sign! Lol.

Omg she’s kicking it! Michelle has been in the top 10 for days now! Solid in 8th with 11dogs and only 150 Miles to go! What a great Iditarod!

Good morning TLK friends! We are 150 miles out from the finish line and have remained in the top 10 for the past two days — what a race!! So much leap frogging and strategic competition. It’s been fun to watch.

We are so proud of this team! 11 of them are approaching Rainy Pass and spent the wee hours of the morning camping on the trail. It would have made for a more peaceful break and less chaos than in a checkpoint. After Rainy Pass Checkpoint, the trail crosses Rainy Pass itself, the highest point on the Iditarod. It’s going to be up and down for a large portion of the day.

We learned Floyd has also been dropped from the team and will be making his way to Tc’s today.

The next 150 miles will be intense, and we are thinking of Michelle and team! 🐾 🇨🇦🐾

Go Michelle! Keep on mushin!

She’s all smiles! We located some videos of Michelle coming into the last two checkpoints and straight from Ed’s mouth “the dogs look great!”

Seeing the team come into Nikolai, they had energy and lots of wagging tails. Michelle shared that it had been an eventful run to get to that checkpoint — mile 263.

Onwards, the video today of the team arriving to Ophir was amazing too! Michelle remarked about how tight their unit is and how great the team feels. They will stay at this checkpoint — mile 352 — for a while. She shared that she was going to go through to the Iditarod checkpoint but figured it best to stay put. We trust she made the right decision, only she knows what the trails look and feel like.

While she rests, we will too! Thanks for cheering on TLK, happy trails!
