My clients came in from South Carolina to fish with me the last 3 days and it was absolutely amazing! They were blessed with early limits of trout each of the 3 days so we switched gears and went chasing different species until they were ready to head back in. Trout were all caught with on in about 4-6’ of water around Geoghegan Canal. Reds were all caught on live shrimp from on corks in about 1’ of water in Lake Catherine. Cats were all caught in Sawmill pass on drop shot. “Best fishing trip of my life, until the next one!”

The LDWF announced that recreational anglers may keep any size and quantity of Blacktip and Bull Shark as of January 20, 2025.

Waited for it to warm up yesterday and then headed down to the wall. None of the marinas had live bait but that doesn’t matter when you have ! Water temp stayed around 50 degrees and the bite was slow but my guys stayed with it and put a beautiful box of fish together! “Best fishing trip of my life, until the next one!”

Went out yesterday with the McLinns family. The radar showed the bridges in Lake Pontchartrain would stay dry, but around 8 o’clock I saw that wasn’t going to be the case. Made the move to the Twin Span and waited under the crossover until the storm to passed, catching fish the entire time! They caught their limit of speckled trout and added some bonus blue cats, sheepsheads, redfish and flounder in the process! Live shrimp from Rigolets Bait and Seafood and Marker 54 on drop shots. “Best fishing trip of my life, until the next one!”

Another great day on Lake Pontchartrain! Waited for it to warm up again then hit the Lake with some live shrimp from and on drop shots. Not much tide movement so it took a little while to get them going but once they did it was on. “Best fishing trip of my life, until the next one.”

It was pretty cold yesterday morning, so I pushed our start time back till it was a little warmer. Started off slow and bounced around a little but finally found them. Live shrimp from and on drop shots in Lake Pontchartrain. “Best fishing trip of my life, until the next one.”

Lake Pontchartrain continued to bless us yesterday with a 5 man limit of speckled trout by 9:30, along with a bonus redfish, flounder, blue cat and some sheeps. Headed over to a nearby deep pass and added some 12” or bigger white trout. Everything caught with live shrimp from and on drop shot rigs. “Best fishing trip of my life, until the next one.”

Late post from Tuesday’s trip. Mr. Tom contacted me after seeing the article about fishing the wall in .sportsman.outdoors magazine and said he wanted to make a trip to the wall. I told him we were catching in Lake Pontchartrain, but he insisted that we go to the wall…. So that’s what we did….. After he caught his limit of speckled trout, he told me he wanted to go catch some marsh bass….. So, we did that too. 😂 Trout were caught with live shrimp on a drop shop and the bass were caught with ultraviolet. “Best fishing trip of my life, until the next one.”

Another amazing day of fishing in Lake Pontchartrain! The normal spot didn’t have bait so I called Hai Tran at Bait inc Boat Launch and of course he had plenty of beautiful shrimp, so I ran down there first thing this morning. Once on the water my clients had their 45 speckled trout by 8am, so we went and chased the birds around for a little bit and caught some redfish…. Then we went to a nearby deep pass to catch white trout and only kept them if they were 12” or bigger until my clients were ready to go home around 11….. “Best fishing trip of my life, until the next one!”

Ran a trip for Captain Mike Gallo yesterday and the fish were chewing! Got their limit of specks from Lake Pontchartrain and then went to Lake Catherine and picked up a few redfish! Everything was caught on drop shots with live shrimp! “Best fishing trip of my life, until the next one!” Thanks for the trip Cap!

Took my client to Lake Pontchartrain today. After he picked up his limit of 15 trout, we took a short boat ride and picked up his limit of 4 red fish…. Beautiful, chilly, day on the water! Fished live shrimp from and on drop shot rigs in about 15’ - 20’ of water around Lake Pontchartrain. Once they had their 60 specks we went and put a couple bonus fish in the box until they were ready to go home… “Best fishing trip of my life, until the next one.”
