Smith County is named in honor of Major Nelson Smith who camped near Center Township on his way to join the Union Forces in the Civil War. He was later killed at the Battle of the "Little Blue" in Missouri on October 23, 1864. Since then, Smith County has grown to become and remains a wonderful place to live, visit, and experience. Our goal as a CVB Committee is to help you explore what Smith Coun

📢 Our pharmacies will be CLOSED on Wednesday, February 5th, to allow our staff to head to Topeka to stand up for our pharmacy and our patients! We’ll tell lawmakers to make sure people can get their medicine, stop pharmacies from closing, and fix unfair PBM rules.

💊 What’s Happening? Big companies called PBMs decide how we get medicine to you. They make it hard for small pharmacies to stay open by paying us less than what we pay for the medicine. They also take back money with tricky rules.

If nothing changes this year, closures of Kansas pharmacies like ours could last forever. Pharmacies that stay open can’t safely take care of all the extra prescriptions from other pharmacies closing. Mail-order services also take too long or don’t keep medicine safe, which could hurt patients.

💊 How You Can Help:
-Tell lawmakers why your local pharmacy is important.
-Help us fight for fair rules so everyone can get the medicine they need.

Merry Christmas Eve everyone! The 2024 Smith County,KS Christmas Light Contest PEOPLE'S CHOICE winner (much closer race this year) is 'North Pole Glow ' 216 West Kansas Ave, Smith Center. The judges are still sending in the votes for Grand - 3rd. Thank you to everyone for the decorations and the votes.
