The Town is preparing, and staff has trainings scheduled throughout this month that focus on damage assessment, training with our debris management contractors to train on disaster management and operations, FEMA updates/policy changes, as well as operational challenges and emerging trends.

We're excited to announce that we are partnering again with Onslow County Emergency Services and the US National Weather Service Newport/Morehead City NC to host a Hurricane Community Forum here at Town Hall. We will be announcing a date soon!

What the owners do during a week at the beach: Brought new deck furniture and door mats, fixed a screen door, a wood step, the storm door, replaced the doorbell, caulked the sink, cut down chairs and moved deck furniture, spot cleaned the sofa, found the missing pillow sham, organized the game cabinet, changed the A/C filter, assembled a deck storage box and re hung a mirror. Also fished and visited with friends, enjoyed seafood, floated at The Float Spa, walked and sat on the beach. A good week!🏖️☀️🌊🎣🍤

VOTE FOR CHASE!

Chase has been registered for the Aftermath K9 Grant. If we win, we will receive $2,500 that would go directly to our K9 budget. We need your votes! Voting begins May 25th and ends June 5th. Once voting period begins, votes can be made by legal residents of the United States who 13 years of age or older with a valid email address or social media account at time of entry. Void where prohibited. Eligible voters may vote once every 24 hours on the designated voting website - https://www.aftermath.com/k9-grant and once daily on Instagram () and Facebook () by liking the daily post and posting the agency name and state they wish to vote for in the comment section.

Chase’s Story:

Chase joined the Town of NTB in December as an 8-month-old German shepherd puppy who was rescued by Western Carolina Shepard in Franklin, NC. Chase was located by the local animal control chained to a pole. Western Carolina Shepard then took in Chase. Sgt. Pulawski found Western Carolina Shepard through animal rescues here in Onslow County. Western Carolina Shepard donated Chase to the North Topsail Beach Police Department to become a K-9 Officer. After some training, Chase will specialize in narcotics detection, tracking/trailing and article searches. Chase and his handler, Sgt. Dylan O’Dwyer are looking forward to getting trained to better serve the citizens and visitors of North Topsail Beach

So thankful for our kind, repeat fall and holiday renters! We arrived with a long “to do” list of repairs and spring cleaning tasks. Found the house in great order! Items were back in place, kitchen drawers were tidy and cabinets organized. Sometimes it’s so much worse! We deep cleaned the sofa, pressure washed 5 decks, fixed or replaced two light fixtures, washed windows, replaced a screen, polished cabinets, replaced deck spindles, washed bedding, etc. It’s a lot but was so much easier to complete and we appreciate it. Even found the binoculars were useable again! Some patient person (we think we know who) must have tinkered, cleaned, adjusted them. Thank you! We may even get to relax on the beach in almost 70° tomorrow!🌊☀️⛱️🐚
