BIG NEWS for MAGIC KINGDOM and Frontierland! 🚨🚨

Disney recently announced that 🚂Big Thunder Mountain Railroad will be CLOSING ❌ for a YEAR🤯 starting January 6th, 2025.

🚂 The wildest ride in the wilderness is set to reopen sometime in 2026 with “new enhancements”, but no other details about what might change were announced.

Disney announced a LOT of amazing updates yesterday to their parks around the world! I am so excited for these new additions!!

Day 10:
Our final day at the resort, we made the most of our remaining time, indulging in the various amenities and taking in the beautiful surroundings. We checked out at 11am but didn't depart for the airport until 9pm, thanks to TSA Precheck. We spent the day lounging by the pool and beach, and indulging in delicious sweets. The resort's departure lounge provided a convenient and comfortable space for us to freshen up before our flight.

Day 9:
We spent the day at Bellows Beach, Waimanalo, Hawaii, jumping waves and boogie boarding. We capped off the night with a return trip to Maui Mike's. Bellows Beach, AirForce Base, Waimanalo, Hawaii.

Day 8:
We visited the swap meet for souvenirs and deals, ending the night with a traditional Hawaiian luau, a must-experience feast developed in the 1850s for sharing island traditions with visitors.

Day 7:
We had a relaxing stay at the breathtaking Aulani Resort, taking advantage of the various pools and beautiful beach just steps away. Complimentary for guests are beach chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, and snorkeling gear at both the pool and beach. We ended the night with dinner with a good friend on the island at Makahiki, located within the resort. The food and service were amazing!

Day 6: We dedicated the day to honoring the memories of Pearl Harbor, followed by a meal at Dixie Grill, where the children were served sweet tea and lemonade. After lunch, we embarked on a hike up Diamond Head, where we were treated to breathtaking views of the island. All the kids completed the hike, a first for Emmalyn, and I couldn't be prouder of her (she overcame her fear of heights with a small anxiety attack). We ended the day at the Poly lookout where the wind was out of this world.

Day 5:
We devoted another day to experiencing the leisurely pace of life on the North Shore. We were treated to a captivating dolphin show, which was truly remarkable. Later, we enjoyed a delectable dinner at Maui Mike's, which is known for its signature Maui Wowie dish, on our way to checking in at Disney's Aulani Resort, a world-class vacation destination.

Day 4:
We island-hopping to Oahu and staying overnight on the stunning North Shore. The North Shore is famous for Waimea Bay, one of Hawaii's most notable surfing spots, which played a significant role in the development of big wave surfing culture. Prior to the invention of tow-in surfing, Waimea Bay was regarded as the most esteemed big wave surfing spot globally. The bay is also home to The Eddie, an elite big wave surfing tournament named after Eddie Aikau, a celebrated big wave surfer and lifeguard. Unique in its format, the tournament requires a minimum wave height of 20 feet before it can begin, earning it the nickname of the Super Bowl of surfing.

Annual Cousins Disney trip!! We have the best time doing the race and spending time together with no kiddos. It the only time of year are not know as “your kids name here” parents.

Day 3:
We began with a hike to the unique Lava Tubes. Lava tubes are natural tunnels that form when lava flows down the sides of a volcano and the surface cools and hardens into a crust. The lush Rainforest surroundings distinguished it from any other experience. In the afternoon, we visited Richardson Ocean Park and revelled in snorkeling and interacting with sea turtles. To end the day, we savored some exceptional pizza from Hilo Pizza Co.
