Lutenist Olav Chris Henriksen has over 30 years experience consulting and testing strings for all types of early plucked and bowed string instruments. He is a consultant for the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, for whom he has strung and played many different lutes and early guitars. In his solo recording, "La Guitarre Royalle: French Baroque and Classical Guitar Music" (Museum Music), he played the M

useum's five-course guitar by Alexandre Voboam I (Paris 1680), for which he had provided the strings. He has provided strings for orchestras and chamber groups in the United States and Europe, and is frequently called upon to calculate custom strings for medieval vielles, lyra viols, and instruments in scordatura tunings.
