Sonora Pass/Highway 108 is open and to say this drive is breathtaking is an understatement! Granite mountains, gushing rivers, meadows and pine trees line the roads on this peaceful route. 🏔️ Be sure to take your time driving and you’ll be sure to see a few waterfalls along the way 💦
The top of the pass is 9,624 feet above sea level with impressive snow walls. ❄️ The pass connects the communities of Sonora to the west and Bridgeport to the east. The road is narrow, steep and windy in some spots and is not recommended for long or large vehicles.
There are plenty of spots to stop, stretch your legs, and soak in the fresh mountain air including Donnell Vista, Kennedy Meadows and more. 🙌
Book your next visit to Tuolumne County and see all that we have to offer!

Looking for your next adventure? 🥾 Explore the Yosemite Wilderness on a hike to Carlon Falls! 💦 This 2.9 mile (round trip) trail begins on the Stanislaus National Forest at the Carlon Day Use Area off of Evergreen Rd. Full of beautiful scenery, the trail goes along the South Fork of the Tuolumne River into the Yosemite Wilderness 🌲 Please note this trail is moderately difficult and dogs and biking are not allowed. In addition, we would like to remind everyone to practice water safety when visiting. Rivers are surprisingly swift, cold, and dangerous. Stay back from flowing water! Stay out of rivers and creeks. Stay away from rock adjacent to rivers; wet rock is extremely slick. Do not cross bridges that have water flowing over them. Thank you! Video by @yosemite_evergreen and @yosemite_rushcreek.
