Artifacts dating back approximately 9,000 years, discovered in the thawing ice patches of northern British Columbia, showcase the ingenuity of ancient populations. More than 50 perishable items, including birch bark containers, wooden staffs, and a stitched-hide boot, have been recently unearthed. These artifacts, preserved for millennia under ice, along with obsidian prismatic blades indicative of early mining practices, demonstrate the advanced craftsmanship and utilitarian innovation of the region's former inhabitants. The findings emphasize the significance of materials such as wood and obsidian in their everyday existence.
